Tl;dr: Wrong order, perhaps due to a language barrier issue.
I picked this place because I had an early appointment and it was one of the few food options open that wasn't a fast food burger joint or sit-down breakfast restaurant.
Tried to order a lengua torta. Was told the only torta they still make is a milanesa. Said ok, I'll have that then. Paid, got my food, then left.
Opened the foil to discover it was a jamon and piña torta. (Would have taken pictures but was short on time due to the aforementioned morning appointment.)
So I ate it anyway (was afraid going back and trying to fix it would be too hard/take too long, and again I had an appointment I didn't want to risk being late for or missing over a sandwich).
It wasn't bad, even though it wasn't what I was expecting it to be, and I normally don't eat ham and hate pineapple in savory dishes. It was really drippy, though, as others have also commented, so watch your upholstery.
So I got a torta I was told they didn't make anymore. Nor did I get my first or even my second choice which they told me was the only torta they still make.
And I'm not sure why, if lengua tacos are still on the menu, they can't put lengua meat on a torta bun with torta fixin's instead of on a tortilla with taco fixin's. (Hope it's not because the tacos are preassembled at 7 in the morning.)
I really want to like this place since they're open late and close by. But I'm not sure what happened there or how to prevent this from happening again, so I'm not sure it's worth the...
Read moreI ordered a burrito to go with no tomato but yes on the cilanto and oninon, and two tacos with everything on it to go. When i got home(Palo Alto) i opened my food and it looked like something the cat dragged in. It was terrible looking and there was tomato on the guac. As a former food handler it would be proffesional to let the client know it also contains it just in case there is any allergy problems. When i went back i was confronted by who i assumed prepared it. And had a very aggressive body language and was treated as a lier by that employer. I had previously called before arriving and asked if they wanted me to bring the food. I had been told not to. I use to drive from Palo Alto to Mtn View but since that horrible and embarrassing moment i have not set...
Read moreAccording to online, the tamales are $3.75 for an order of 2. They insist that it’s one per order, even when I showed them proof on my phone. This place has good food (except the chicken) and some of the worst customer service. The owner has the audacity to lie and say that they honored their online price, that’s just sad. They did not change the listing online, it still says order of two tamales for $3.75. I wasn’t “trying” anything, I only wanted to receive the product I paid for. I don’t want a refund, I want you to be a good business owner and actually be held accountable for your irresponsibility with the online prices, actually give what was advertised. It’s sad that I can’t go here anymore, because I love eating and Jennifer’s, but this is just...
