Caspian in Mountain View stole our hearts with their incredible service and mouthwatering dishes. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and served by two kind and hospitable women, who made us feel right at home.

Now, let's talk about the food—we ordered a feast that left us both satisfied and with plenty of leftovers. One of our favorite dishes was the Baghalipolo, a flavorful rice dish bursting with fresh herbs and fava beans. Paired with the tender and succulent lamb shank, it was a match made in culinary heaven. The flavors were so delightful that we couldn't help but savor every bite.

Another highlight was the Sultani platter. With a juicy koobideh skewer and a mouthwatering barg skewer made from fillet mignon, this dish was a true feast for the senses. Accompanied by fragrant rice and a crisp salad, it was a perfect combination of flavors and textures.

What impressed us the most was the generous portions. Despite ordering meals for two, we ended up with enough food to fill another person's plate. We happily indulged in the delectable dishes and still had leftovers to enjoy later. Stopped in this place by chance. Water pitcher provided at the table and small starter plate was also given of pita bread and two dips. I ordered their appetizer sampler platter to try a bit of everything. All items were tasty and fresh. Presentation was superb. My only disappointment was when I asked my server for a to go box for my leftovers she took my food away. I had already paid and had thought she must have been boxing my food for me. When she came back and asked if I needed anything else I told her I was just waiting for the rest of my food to take with me. She made a confused look and went back to the kitchen and just left me sitting there like an idiot for quite awhile. If she had misunderstood when I had asked for a box to go and had tossed my leftover food that's okay, I'm understanding, but she could have just apologized and explained instead of making me uncomfortable like I had did something wrong. I ended up just getting up and leaving since no one wanted to address me on the issue.

Aside from that mishap, the ambiance was nice as well as the employees. I would recommend this place for two or more people, they seemed kind of confused that I was dining alone but I guess they might not get many single diners here. This place was recommended by a Persian friend of mine who is a foodie and I used to be a chef. Hands down they had the juiciest koobideh I’ve tried in the area - could add a tiny bit more salt though, but it wasn’t a problem. You should fix everything with a heaping dash of sumac anyway, for tartness instead of salt.

The gheimeh also had real potato’s not the crispy fried chips you find elsewhere.

The saffron ice cream was delicious and sprinkled with pistachios - nice touch as many Persian restaurants at this price point don’t add details like that. They have details that you know you’re getting your money’s worth - like the platters they serve the food in, extra large portions, a shirazi salad with herbs and chopped finely and evenly - not just rough chopped(that actually does matter!), the bread platter served at the beginning of our meal, sabzi khordan too if you ask for it, glassware and flatware that are more high-end for the prices they charge.

Service was great, although our server did take my plate away before I was done eating without asking me if I was finished. It seemed rushed and the restaurant wasn’t busy during that time, so I didn’t understand the rush.
