I recently visited Poké House and had a very disappointing experience. I chose a small bowl and was initially offered crab meat. I agreed and then asked for salmon, which they added. When I said that was enough protein for me, the staff insisted I needed to choose three proteins, which I found very confusing. No one informed me that only one protein was included in the base price. I only realized that the other two proteins came with an extra charge when I saw the total on the screen at the checkout — by then, my bowl had already been made, and it was too late to change anything.
At the checkout, I encountered a very rude staff member who didn’t greet me or make eye contact. She quickly entered my order, saw that I had cash, and called another staff member named Polina. Polina also did not greet me, took my money without saying a word, and handed me the change in a very brusque way. Then, another staff member threw the receipt onto the counter without even looking at me. I left feeling frustrated and disrespected. I thought about sitting outside, but all the tables were dirty, so I left.
Later, I returned to ask for a plastic lid for my bowl since I had to travel far. The staff completely ignored me, so I had to reach over the counter and take the lid myself. It was right there on the counter, and they made no effort to assist me.
Overall, the service was extremely unprofessional and made me feel very unwelcome. I won’t...
Read moreSureal experience PROS: healthy fresh food. I love poke and for some reason I don't know if it was the sauce I chose but there wasn't much flavor on mine here, but maybe that's my bad choice. healthy and filling so I didn't care. What was weird was my interaction.
I ordered a 2 protein bowl. & said "can I get ahi tuna and salmon please? ". The server then yes then asked if I wanted a scoop of crab and said it was free. I said "Sure!" The server scooped in the crab & asked "what proteins I wanted". Again I said "Ahi & salmon" . They scooped the Ahi in then asked "what other protein? " again I said "Salmon". The server said "you get 1 more protein"
I said "salmon" again. They asked: "what other protein would you like?". I became extremely confused & said- "oh, do I get three?" I thought they were saying, in addition to the salmon I Need to choose one more. They said: "The crab is free, you aren't getting charged for that so you get 1 more protein" So I said: "Oh...still salmon"for the 5th time. they finally understood me. It was very surreal. Much confusion.
The place is clean & spacious and the food is decent...I think I probably wouldn't go back just because I don't want that confusing ordering...
Read more11/26/2023 Update: The practice of weighing the scoops of seafood seems to have stopped and the portions appear to have improved and normalized. Also, the staffing has improved after a dip (much more likely to see 3 staff out front) and the staff appears happier and more friendly. I would give the current state of things as 4.5 stars and continue going back.

Was very good for the first few months since the grand opening, with generous portions and friendly staff, which I predicted wouldn’t last. Not surprising, but the location is becoming cost conscious and starting to decrease the portion sizes and reduce staffing (2 instead of 3 visible around front of house). The scoops of fish are now being weighed and the staff appear to be more overworked and less enthusiastic than before. Food quality is still good, but it is no longer the “great deal” that it was, prices are probably fair now, which is reasonable and...
