The food was horrible. We ordered 1) Achari paneer for starters. The paneer was hard and bad quality. I think they just bought the cheapest paneer you get at any Indian store and served it. It was chewy and unflavorful. When we told the waiter, he said that the chef said it's chewy coz it's been out for too long. We literally ate it within minutes of being served. The waiter just reheated it and brought it back. 2) peshawari paneer for entree. Same horrible quality hard paneer. They didn't even try to soften it by heating it in gravy or something. Also, gravy was very thin. 3) veg jalfrezi for entree. It had potatoes, gravy was too acidic. Bad taste. 4) Pineapple raita. We expected this to be sweet the way its usually made. They literally made savory raita with Cucumbers and added very few pieces of Pineapple in it which were not even sweet. Disappointing. 5) garlic Naan was thick and uncooked. Had hardly any garlic or butter. Chef needs to change. Total waste of money. You'd be better off eating at an Indian food truck.

I had the pleasure of visiting Sukoon Indian Restaurant on my first day in Mountainview, and it was truly a delightful experience. The restaurant is situated in a lively square, creating a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere. As a fan of Indian cuisine, I decided to order the Achari chicken and the chicken sukoonwala. Both dishes were a treat for my taste buds. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, accompanied by a delightful blend of spices that gave it a delicious flavor. For dessert, I tried the Rasmalai, and it turned out to be the highlight of the meal. The Rasmalai was simply the best I’ve ever had, with its rich, creamy texture and heavenly taste. Overall, I would rate my dining experience at Sukoon 4 out of 5 stars. The food was fantastic, and the ambiance of the square added to the enjoyment of the evening. If you’re in the area and craving authentic Indian cuisine, Sukoon should be at the top of your list. Bon appétit!

Beautiful looking food but taste did not hit the mark. We visited this place recently for dinner as it had been a while we had indian food outside. We decided for Sakoon as preCOVID experience during buffet lunch here was good. Service was good and food was delivered promptly. We ordered quite a few items for 3 of us. However I was surprised that out of 5 items we ordered, only one had some flavor. For the price I paid, I would have appreciated equally high quality food. Curries tasted undercooked and heavily sweetened. Paneer saufia was bland as tofu. Daal tadka had no salt. I liked Lehsuni Gobhi though and would recommend if you end up here. I for me can't say that I would visit this place again in near future. This place has either taken downward turn or it was not my day to get decent indian food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sakoon Restaurant in Sunnyvale, and I was thoroughly impressed. The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting ambiance, perfect for catching up with friends or family. The service was also excellent - friendly, attentive, and prompt. But the true star of the show was the food. I started with the achari chicken, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The chicken chettinad curry from the main course was equally delicious - the chicken was tender and juicy, and the gravy was rich and flavorful. I couldn't resist mopping up every last drop with my naan! Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Sakoon Restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian meal in Sunnyvale.

Sakoon tries to be the upscale Indian restaurant chain in the bay area. However, behind the nice decor, good music, and attentive staff is average food in terms of taste and selection. Jeera aloo and Gobi Tamatar are items I would never serve to guests coming to my home. They are too basic and plain - they are great for home comfort food but not items you want to eat in an upscale buffet. Why not serve Baingan Bharta which most Indian restaurants don't know how to cook well? Or serve Saag or Bhindi? It's not worth paying $25 if half the items are those which I could make easily at home. Especially if you are vegetarian. Dal makhani was neither Dal nor Makhani. I would call it crunchy lentils. To top it off, the food signs used in the buffet look so cheap.
