Horrible experience, Initially waited f10 minutes while 6-7 employees walked by, made eye contact, but did nothing to help, they didn't even ask if we had been helped yet. Finally when I ordered I couldn't get what I wanted as Corn + Peppers is considered a protein. After making alternative choices I asked the young lady helping me if I could do 1/2 roasted chicken and 1/2 blackend, I also told her I only wanted one serving of chicken as I couldn't either nor did want to pay for a double order. She was nice enough to accommodate me (or so I thought). When Jade wrang up my order I told her I did 1/2 and 1/2 - she even asked the young lady putting together my order. Needless to say when I got home they had charged me for a double order. I called and asked to speak to a manager, the first person who answered asked, "why? why do you need to speak with our manager" when I told her she replied "there isn't a manger available now or today, you should come back here and speak with the person who helped you".
So Sweetgreen - do you train you staff not to listen to the customers? Do you intentionally try and bring the check total up? Do you charge people even when it's not what they ordered? Was today an example of a systematic issue or a mistake followed by poor...
Read moreI had heard a lot of good things about sweetgreen, so I decided to give it a try. I love myself a good salad, and am willing to repeatedly shell out up to $15 per salad. So while these salads are not cheap, I would say that price is not at the forefront of this review.
I really just... didn't like it. I could have made a better salad at home. I've been here twice. The first time I got one of their pre-set salads, and I felt like the ingredients didn't mesh particularly well with each other and the dressing was overpowering. The second time I got a DIY salad, but I didn't love the fact that you had to pay extra for all the toppings. I would have preferred for the base to be a little more expensive and have unlimited toppings instead. Most of the toppings didn't sound particularly appealing either. Perhaps they're trying to be especially hip with their rainbow beats and quinoa, but I would have just preferred your run-of-the-mill sprouts, beans, croutons, and avocados.
I may give this place another shot in the near future, but for now I feel like I should just go to the grocery store and...
Read moreUPDATED 16 Oct 2024 to add a star given how delicious their hot salmon protein option is. Sweetgreen is currently offering only two hot protein options at present (chicken and salmon) but at least the salmon one I tried today was great, if a bit pricey for the modest amount of fish.
A mostly-delightful experience from beginning to end! Friendly staff Lots of healthy & delicious choices for the salads Well-lit, not-too-crowded space No tipping! No jar, no point-of-sale begging, etc. How refreshing!
Some areas for improvement The chamomile drink tasted and smelled very, very off :( No hot options at all. Would have loved some soup, a toasted half-sandwich, even hot cider. More accessible / easier to read menus (didn't see any menus at the entrance, and for some, the menu on the wall could be...
