A Missed Opportunity on Mother’s Day at Mitchell’s 🌟🌟🌟 I chose Mitchell’s for a special Mother’s Day dinner, hoping for a break from cooking and a memorable experience. We had a reservation for 6:30 PM and were seated by 6:45 PM, which was reasonably timely. Unfortunately, the evening had several hiccups that dampened our spirits.
The set menu was promising, but our experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. Early on, we were told that bread would be served, yet it never arrived. Service for drinks was slow, affecting even non-alcoholic options, and when they did arrive, some had a mysterious brown residue on the glass and others had particles floating in them. We also only received water once and never were given anymore. Most of our table said they were very thirsty. We also didn't receive any silverware and had to ask several times.
Our soup and salad courses were out of sync, with a 15 minute delay between them. More disappointingly, by the time we placed our dinner orders, several menu items were already unavailable. I found the cod underwhelming and lacking in flavor, a poor substitute for the unavailable swordfish I had hoped for. To get a refill or ask a question was hard unless the waiter was coming back to the table to let us know what we ordered wasn't available. Desserts were another area where our patience was tested. What should have been a sweet end to our meal turned into a 30-minute wait, followed by more unavailable choices. This resulted in some of us having to select and then re-select alternatives, which was frustrating. We selected Mitchell's because we thought the service on a day like mothers day would still be a positive experience.
Furthermore, there was confusion with our drink orders; my second drink arrived after dessert, and we were mistakenly given a drink we did not order not once but twice. Im still not sure if we were charged.
On a positive note, the ambiance of the restaurant was fitting for the occasion, and the staff, despite the evening’s issues, were polite and did their best under the circumstances.
Mitchell's could be a wonderful dining destination, but on this occasion, several improvements are necessary. It was disheartening, especially on a day meant to celebrate and pamper the special moms in our lives, that they didn’t get to enjoy the meals they looked forward to. I hope Mitchell’s can address these issues for a better experience in the future. Mitchell's is supposed to be one the best restaurants in the South hills, not only did it not live up to expectations we will not be...

If I was on Death Row - this would be my final meal.
I discovered this restaurant some years ago. Not this location. The Ahi Tuna Poké Bowl and the Ahi Tuna Rice Bowl are just items every fish/ sushi lover needs at least a billion times in their life. It's the only things I order.
I dream of it actually. Today's visit was a total unplanned shock walking through the little mall. How could I turn down a lunch at my favorite restaurant.
The raw tuna melts in your mouth. The crunch of the veggies, not only tastes so good but sounds so amazing. No fish smell. It’s a 100 out of 5 stars.
The staff is so sweet and attentive to your needs.
This is going to sound silly but the water, so clean and.....pure (??) tasting. There is no funny taste to it.
This is my favorite restaurant, hands down no questions asked. I'd eat this Ahi Tuna Rice Bowl DAILY if I could.
Paul ordered the Chicken Cesar Salad and said it was very good. He would definitely get it again.
I have to laugh because it's normally me that struggles to find fish to eat on a menu. (Very picky eater) Not this time!! Paul, the steak and potatoes man, had the limited options. But duh, It's clearly a fish lovers dream restaurant. Hahaha! He was happy with his chicken parm though!
Give me more Ahi Tuna Rice Bowls!!!
I can't wait to go back.
// I have since been back a couple times and it's just as amazing as ever. Ahi Tuna Rice Bowl is perfection.

Read moreSo tired of dissatisfaction. I don't know why I continue to frequent chain establishments. First off we questioned the clueless hostess as to whether a substitute could be made with soba noodles ex. Vegetable being my friend is gluten free. Answer...I don't think so. It was just so dismissive that I said..."can you check with the chef?" After an eyeball roll, she went and came back stating, "just as I said, we cannot substitute because vegetables are more expensive. Are you kidding me? We were more than willing to pay for the change. We then asked if a rice could be a substitution but not sticky rice. She said that was the only kind they had. We then discovered a carribean rice listed. Like I said clueless and seemingly annoyed by our questions. I finally said....it doesn't look like anyone is breaking down the door to get in here, you should be a little accommodating to customers. She apologized when realizing that I may bust her with the manager as the next step. We were seated and ordered the super bowl with shrimp which we joking said in agreement was this the appetizer before the real dish? So extremely small, even smaller than a panera bowl another chain that is overrated. For a bill of $20 for this pitiful 5 shrimp salad, well Only a fool would return. I had eaten years ago in the waterfront location which was a larger meal, average and pricey but for a quick lunch, you can fool me once, maybe twice, third time...it will...
