Maya Grill Mexican Food — Restaurant in Murfreesboro

I’ve come here about a dozen times now most times with my Mexican in-laws and a few times by myself. Every time I’m here with the in-laws I don’t have any issues but every time I come here by myself and do a order for pick up or use the drive-through there’s always some sort of issue or all of a sudden The manager acts like they don’t know what the hell I’m saying. Or look at me like he doesn’t comprehend my Spanish when he take my order any time Im alone. This last time the Manager who was running the drive thru had an issue with me paying in cash and using a l card and said it was something about the system being down and then he ran my credit card and what would you know it worked just fine. He threw my food and shut the little door on my face, so I rang the bell again because I was expecting to get my receipt for the order especially with him saying they were having card machine issues. Not sure if they don’t realize on the same person and not that it should really matter but in a town where there are 100 other Mexican restaurants (and for a guy who gets Mexican cooking at home) it won’t be that...

Oh my goodness, I know that this establishment has a bar and that doesn’t bother me but when the employees at the restaurant let their patrons there be obnoxiously loud it made it a miserable evening. It was around 7pm Saturday evening and we decided to finally try this place. I will never go back, I mean the food was actually delicious and priced reasonably. But when I say they let those five men at the bar make such loud noises for the whole 25 minutes we were there. Ugh, it rattled my nerves, I could not hear my friends talk. It was totally uncalled for. This is a public place and it made the eating experience for everyone there unbearable. I’ve been to loud establishments but it was the extremely loud hollering that were ridiculous. Oh well, it’s not like there aren’t plenty of more options of Mexican restaurants to choose from. Edit So disappointing! We ordered chicken fajitas and chicken mole. I expected sizzling, freshly grilled chicken but the chicken in both dishes was clearly pre-prepared frozen. When the preparations are so simple, they need to be well done, and this DID NOT meet my expectations of even an average Mexican place. Went around 5:30 on a Saturday evening with a part of 6. We were seated immediately. Service was very fast and friendly. Guacamole Casero was fresh and delicious, served with pork rinds which was a fun twist. Shrimp cocktail and the Nachos Mexicanos were the best ever. Birria Tacos were the best I've ever had in a restaurant. Steak tacos were huge. Fajitas were great. Portions were so large of everything else that the taco salad looked small in comparison by my MIL was happy with it. Everyone enjoyed the churros & icecream as well....
