Quick backstory... I move to Tennessee about a year ago and ever since been missing the quality and variety of food from the west coast. I was recently inside Outpost Armory for a little target practice and was speaking with the range officer Aaron who was also a west coast transplant. We got to talking about the food and he recommended I try Single Tree Barbecue in Murfreesboro. That turned out to be a great tip! My girlfriend and I drove directly to Single Tree Barbecue where I recognized the gigantic smoker in the parking lot. We went inside and found a clean and comfortable environment and the smell of good food. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu options. Being our first time there, we ordered the Community Style Sampler which cost about $46. and the fried pickles appetizer for $8. Add in one sweet tea and 1 Coca-Cola And our total came out to about $61. I thought this to be an average price for the size of meal, but I was mistaken when the food arrived. This was easily Going to be a full lunch and full dinner for two people. The food was served in about 5 - 7 minutes! The fried pickles we're good and came with a white barbecue sauce. To me, it tasted like hot wing sauce without the heat. I personally prefer ranch, so we ordered a side of ranch dressing to go with it. Each table had Single Tree brand BBQ sauce in both "regular" and "spicy." Their sauce favored slightly to the vinegary style sauce. My personal preference is a mesquite-maple-brown sugar style. With that being said, their style of BBQ sauce was good and paired nicely with the meats. This is not a knock on them, it is merely a matter of preference. The quality of meats were excellent and all items were cooked to perfection. The brisket was falling apart with tender juiciness and very flavorful. The ribs had a dry appearance but were also tender and easily removed from the bone. They were covered in a very tasty dry rub like none other I have ever had before. The sausage links had what I think were diced jalapeno peppers inside which added a fantastic flavor. There was nothing fancy about the baked beans and coleslaw, but they were good too. The Mac and cheese was some of the best I've ever had. We literally ate until we were full, boxed up the leftovers, and then had it again for dinner. We still didn't finish it all that night! I've tried many barbecue restaurants in middle Tennessee. Some of them get a couple items right, but none of them get everything right.... until now. I will declare Single Tree Barbecue as my favorite Tennessee barbecue location until the future brings me another unicorn. Well done Single Tree BBQ!

Been watching out for Single Tree Wood Fire BBQ for a while now, and they were at Panther Creek Brewery tonight. At Panther Creek tried a half-pour of Tres Reyes…this is an impressive Mexican Lager, clean, full flavored with a hint of lime doesn’t overpower the beer. Picked up a 4-pack to go along with dinner tonight! Met Charlie Eblen, owner of Single Tree Wood Fire BBQ and Army Veteran. The food trailer is cool and love the smoker on the “back patio” and the scent of BBQ coming from the kitchen. I selected the Sampler Platter consisting of pulled pork, cheddar jalapeño sausage, and brisket with cole slaw and added potato salad. I have to say…Charlie smokes up some pretty darn good BBQ. The sausage was delicious and had some lasting heat to it along with great pork flavors. The pulled pork moist and tender and stood up well even without BBQ sauce. The brisket was spot on tender with solid smoke and the peppered bark really complimented the meat. The BBQ sauce really worked well with everything, good flavor, with a light touch of vinegar. The sides were good and I liked the addition of colored peppers to the red skin potato salad…nice touch. Good food and great folks running the show…glad to finally have been able to enjoy food from this truck.

My husband and I went for a late lunch around 1:30pm on a Sunday (they close at 3pm). It was fairly full but there were still a few empty tables to choose from and most people were finishing their meals. We were greeted right away and told to pick any table we'd like. The waitress was incredibly sweet and quick. The drinks and food came out fast! We ordered the fried pickles and the large ($50) sampler platter. It was WELL worth it and could easily feed 3, if not 4 people. Every meat was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning and flavor. My husband and I were both shocked that we enjoyed the sausage, pulled pork, brisket and ribs equally. The mac n cheese was creamy with a hint of garlic (yumm!) and the baked beans had a sweetness to them with chunks of bacon. Overall, we are thankful to have stopped here on our way to the airport and wish we lived closer (though, we'd easily be 100 lbs. heavier!). Just as we were leaving around 30 mintues before closing time, at least 5 cars pulled up and started going inside. At that point, the kitchen had started to run out of a few items/meats so be warned, don't go last minute!

I went to Single Tree BBQ today in Murfreesboro on Old Fort Parkway .I was getting something to go. I ordered the brisket dinner and a pull pork sandwich ,the lady at the front desk ask me what 2 sides I wanted..I told her I only want the sandwich, she then said they would charge me for 2 sides if i didn't order the sides. So I'm thinking the 2 sides comes with the order..So i ordered Mac & cheese and mash potatoes. and the total came to 41.66 .I then picked up a menu and looked at the prices.I saw there was pull pork sandwich on the menu for 7.99 that comes with curly fries.I then got up and asked the lady at the front desk why she told me I had to get 2 sides with the pull pork sandwich, then she lied and said she didn't say that.I then changed my order to what came with the pull pork sandwich on the menu. It came with 1 side and that was curly fries.I was also told the brisket dinner came with 2 sides and it didn't so i had to change that also.So i got the coleslaw...It didn't taste like coleslaw. The brisket slices had too much fat on it..The brisket was nowhere near worth 20.00. So i was due a refund from my first order and the server name on the receipt was Ryan S, she couldn't figured out how much i was due back, She then gave me 10.00 dollars back. I then asked her if i can get a new receipt for the new order, she was having a hard time trying to figured that out also, then she asked a co worker, then she figured it out,I then told her i was short 97 cent from the receipt, she then gave me a 1.00 because she said there was no pennies in the register and then walked off with a nasty attitude That will be my last time going there spending 31.00..The lady that was waiting on me need a class for her attitude. because she's going to make a lot of customers not come back. Server : Ryan S Check #37 Ordered...

My family went to Single Tree BBQ after seeing that it has good reviews. We all love BBQ and it sounded good! We got there and ordered fried pickles. They were good. The sauce was meh.

For our meal we each ordered something different. I ordered the BBQ Pork Nachos. The first thing that I noticed when they got to me was that they were covered in unmelted shredded cheese. Weird, but I shrugged it off and dug in anyways... it was so bad. The sauce was, again, just not good and didn't mesh with the flavors of the food. I took a bite without the sauce, still not good. Asked the waitress what the two BBQ sauces sitting on our table were because they weren't marked and tried to douse it in bbq sauce, still bad. The flavora just did not blend well. I tried just a bite of plain BBQ pork and it was dry. I looked at my mother and sister and both were trying to hide their looks of disapproval. I finally asked them... "Is yours as bad as mine?!" One was trying to just pick out her fries and leave everything else and the other was already pushing her plate away. I have never been to a restaurant where none of us liked the food. I've never been to a restaurant where I've walked out after 4 bites. But that's exactly what we did.

The server was friendly and they comped the meal, which we appropriate since none of us could actually eat it and we had to find someplace else to eat, but we were definitely disappointed in the food after so many...
