I had eaten here last November for the first time and the food was fantastic but the service was horrible. I came back because my Mom was visiting and wanted to go back for the Prime Rib.
It was Mothers Day and they had a limited menu . They did tell us that we had to have reservations so we asked it we could sit at the bar because we didn’t have reservations. . They asked the manager and he said it was ok. I ordered Maine lobster tail and mom ordered a filet ( i thought she wanted Prime Rib but whatever) Anyway, the steak came out and was full of grizzle, hard to cut so she sent it back. This time she ordered the Prime Rib. The Prime Rib was about 60 percent edible. The pic below shows what was not edible. The mashed potato was the only option because of the limited menu and it came with acorn squash that was not thoroughly cooked and also not edible. I didn’t complain about my food because I was trying to have a good time and keep my mom from sending this one back too. My lobster was about 11/2 to 2 inches long and the width was about the same. So I was still hungry after I ate and aggravated that I spent 25 bucks on a lobster tail the size of my pinky. While waiting for Mom’s food we saw baked potatoes coming out of the kitchen when we were told we could only get mashed potatoes. I finally decided to say something.
I asked the hostess for the manager. She told me the guy serving us ( that told us mashed potatoes only) was the manager. 🙄 I mentioned about the Prime Rib and he went on about how they were low on food being Mother’s Day and all. We ordered dessert because we were both still hungry. The server did take the dessert off the bill to make up for the bad Prime Rib. So he took 8.00 off the bill. I left aggravated that I spent 100 bucks on a meal that wasn’t worth half of that. I felt the attitude of the server/ bartender was unprofessional. He was stressed out and it was apparent in how he spoke with us. It does seem they are understaffed and they were all busting their butts. The poor outside bartender had to keep running inside to make his drinks because the soda guns were broken at the outside bar. I was there to listen to music and have a glass of wine about a month ago and the bartender was complaining about...
Read moreUnfortunate dining experience for our family of 5. We ordered a kids entree, 3 adult entrees and two appetizers (as one entree) our server was kind but seemed a bit in the weeds toward the middle of our experience. Food was a bit slow to come out. Most items (the flatbread, fish special, a steak entree) were warm but not hot by any means. The baked potato was limp, and seemed to be “nuked” One of the adults cut into their steak and immediately was turned off and we notified staff as quickly as possible but unfortunately we were not checked on very promptly. One of the entree items was a salad that did not come out with the rest of the food, nor minutes later, though when ordered (this was clearly requested) it took quite a while prompting our guest to just basically say hey let’s just forget it (as it didn’t arrive) our waiter did bring it after offering to take it off of the tab but it was incorrectly prepared though we did share some of it. The manager (female) did come over after we alerted them about the sub par steak entree and she offered her apologies as well as took it away, she also offered a complimentary dessert which we declined. The fish entree was also lukewarm and not very appetizing. When we received the bill only half of the returned entree (uneaten)was taken off the bill which we found to be disappointing seeing as this was not discussed or communicated by management (and should have been very clear from the time we advised them we would not be eating it. again, this meal was not eaten aside from cut into and sampled. We found the failure to communicate as a bit of an underhanded way to “deal” with our party of 5. Disappointing dining experience for sure. We would definitely be willing to give the place another try had it not been for the lacking communication, late delivery, and underhanded method of dealing...
Read moreCame to Murphy’s Chophouse for lunch with my parents, wife and children expecting a great experience but was sadly disappointed. Upon the arrival everything seems nice but the longer you stay the more you began to notice that it’s not managed well. The server did a great job and was very friendly but the restaurant itself could use an evaluation from a fresh set of eyes. My son used their high hair but I had to request another chair because it was falling apart, wobbling and the screws were falling out. There was a small bowl with a large chunk of butter sitting at the table and when asked what it was for and whether they served bread we were informed they do not but it was there if we wanted to order biscuits. Did not make sense to me to have open butter sitting at the table for no reason. They keep their cutlery uncovered on a table near the kitchen sitting under a large fake plant which was unsettling due to not knowing what dust and debris could be falling from that old plant. They have open pitchers with water nearby as well under the A/C vent which who knows what could be coming out of the vent and falling into the water. We saw a bug crawling around our table near the baseboards which in of it self is not something you would hope not to see when you’re sitting near the kitchen. The restroom was not well kept and they were empty on hand towels. The food was ok- not great but not terrible, just ok. I read through the reviews and it seems that many people love the chophouse so I was shocked at our experience. Perhaps we came in on a bad day but I would suggest another look around for ways to improve your...
