Not great. The menu wasn't up to date, so only certain flavors were available for certain types of tea. They have the old menus posted on the front door/everywhere. We stayed outside reading their menu on the door (because Covid) and once we decided what we wanted only to go in and be told that none of the drinks we wanted were available in the flavors they said they had available. No problem, we made some adjustments.
So. The drinks were also ridiculously sweet. Even when adjusting the sweetness levels (an option on their menu), I am not sure how anyone could drink one of these at 100% or more.
I tried getting a black milk tea with a flavor but it was unavailable with the milk tea for some reason, so I ordered instead a matcha red bean, which I thought was a weird combo, so I asked for it in without matcha.
This was a grave mistake.
Let me preface this by saying that red bean is a flavor I regularly order at several other bobba tea shops. The girl at the register did not warn me that I was making a bad choice.
What I received was a bland milk tea, that was not throughly stirred or shaken so whatever sugar I did have in my drink, I sipped up in the first two sips. My bobba pearls were at the bottom and hydrated filully as expected. What I would never have guessed was the red beans were whole. Whole beans. Whole beans which shoot up the straw MUCH faster than a bobba pearl. I have NEVER experienced this at any of the tea shops I've been to. It would be like ordering a bowl of rice and having it served uncooked and hard. Who would think to ask if it would be coming out cooked or not? Definitely the weirdest drink I've ever received.
Why did she not explain the beans were for texture and not a flavor. It was literally the most disappointing tea I've ever ordered.
It also took a fairly long time to get the three teas that we ordered. One My friend's tea came out okay, and the other was waaaay too sweet, (ordered at 75% sweetness) that she had to doctor the drink once at home.
I am just surprised that when I ordered my drink, which was by far and above the worst of the three, that I wasn't warned or given any kind of heads up that the matcha was the flavor, that I asked not to be in the drink and that the red beans were going to be whole and just ugh.
Also, serious allergen warning. When scooping the ice, they hold the drinks over and inside their ice machine. This is a HUGE food safety concern. If any of the beverage contents splashes out of the cups, which is almost a certainty, that the whole ice machine would need to be emptied and sanitized and I am confidant that it would not at all ever get cleaned out. I watched them make all 3 of our drinks that way, followed by the ladies that ordered after us. I would suggest they consider an ice bin separate from their ice machine so that if it is contaminated, they can clean it instead of spilling milk and fruit juice all over the ice they use for all their drinks.
On a positive note. The drinks were reasonably priced and the Cafe...
Read moreVentured here for the first time as it had great reviews and I was in the area. Also, was curious because another Yelper said it was better than Kung Fu Tea (which I’ve never found another place better!) but I wanted to compare!
I tried the brown sugar milk tea with boba, and got 100% sugar, which was recommended. The consistency of the drink was pretty good, but the sugar was way way too sweet for 100%. I’ve gotten this same concoction at other places and their 100% was way less sugar compared to what they served here. It was like drinking diabetes with the amount of sugar they put! So next time I’ll do 75% sugar. And I’m a sugar kind of girl in my boba drinks!
They also serve smaller ice here with the drink (closer to pebble ice size, so I would’ve liked to have added more ice in my drink. Next time, I’m also going to request more milk in the drink.
The decor is pretty good inside - quite clean, but there are areas you can see from the lobby (that I didn’t take pics of) that needed to be put together, tidied up, or make better as in presentation. Also, one complaint - their straws (at least the one they gave me with my drink) was a bit too narrow for my bobas to slide smoothly in. I’ve had to suction the straw pretty hard in order for my bobas to come up! They kept getting stuck inside the straw!!
Overall - a good fist time experience. They do offer a frequent diner card. However the outside sign (and curb appeal (from the inside parking lot) was lacking. I’m hoping next time I visit that they actually have a more permanent, inviting, appealing sign to...
Read moreTonight I wanted to try 7Buddah Tea House since I was next door having Pho. I came in and ordered 3 drinks. A brown sugar milk tea with boba, a taro slushee with boba, and a honeydew slushee with boba. They placed my drinks in a cardboard drink carrier. I made my way outside towards my car...and the handle of the drink carrier ripped clean off and my drinks spilled all over into the gutter. I was late for a birthday party and didn't really have time to sort it out right then. So I left, but called them on my phone. I spoke to Sam and explained the situation. He was very kind, apologized, and offered to replace my drinks. I understand that it wasn't their fault and it wasn't my fault. The drink carrier failed. Accidents happen sometimes, but it's the way that 7Buddah Tea recovered from this unfortunate situation that was most impressive to me. Sam certainly didn't have to offer to replace the drinks...BUT.HE.DID! This level of customer service is so rare to find nowadays and they've got a customer in me, for life. I honestly appreciated them owning the situation and making it right even when they didn't have to. I live 25 minutes away and I'd happily drive out of my way for this type of service. Oh, and btw....the drinks are ABSOLUTELY worth a visit! But maybe don't get a drink carrier? 😉 It can get pretty crowded so plan accordingly. You'll find ample seating (they offer dine-in with masks and social distancing) in a very clean and laidback atmosphere.Try the brown sugar milk tea with boba...it's next level! You can...
