So I am in Murray, UT for vacation this week and ran across the Crow and the Pitcher while doing a Google search and decided to give it a try for dinner and drinks this evening. I was not disappointed.

The bartender, Haylee, was polite and pleasant and made me feel like I belonged there and not simply some out of state visitor. Even the regulars struck up conversation with me and made me feel right at home. Haylee even went as far as to strike up regular conversation with me and even called me by my name, a trait lost in most establishments these days.

As far as the drinks go, Haylee is second to none as a bartender. I travel regularly for work and have lived all over the world and she makes the absolute BEST Old Fashioned (they refer to it as the Crow Fashioned) I have ever had. Not too strong, not too weak and just absolutely perfect.

Now for the food, WOW! The Reuben Eggrolls were amazing as an appetizer. Haylee suggested the Cheesesteak as well as the tacos, since it was Tacrow Tuesday, and she was spot on yet again. The Cheesesteak was amazing and the Pork Carnitas and Jerk Chicken Tacos were outstanding. Being from Texas I am bias when it comes to tacos, but they hold their own with the best. My compliments to the kitchen.

The biggest shock to me was the total cost of everything. With all I ate, drank and took back to the hotel for later I fully expected to pay close to $100. I was shocked, in total disbelief to be honest, to receive my bill and it was half of what I expected to pay.

This place was a true treasure to find. With their daily specials, outstanding menu items and friendly staff it is by far the BEST food experience I have had thus far during my vacation in Utah. I will be back again this week before I head...

*UPDATE: Went to the crow last Thursday to try out the five dollar cheeseburger special! Delicious, AND it comes with fries. And the Moscow Mule was perfect. When it came to the bartender we had a much better experience then before. She was the only server on the floor and was completely slammed. Despite being super busy, she was super friendly, very attentive, got all of our food and drink orders correct. Thanks guys, keep it up.

Moved to Murray recently and was excited to discover a bar within walking distance. I've been here four times with the past two months and find that the crow and pitcher has Great food, great prices, great music, great daily specials! ($2 dollar tuesdays is bomb). I would give 5 stars BUT I have one complaint. The Lady bartenders should consider greeting the customers before DEMANDING customers IDs. My experience every time I've visited the crow has gone like this: Bartenders glare at me when I walk in, no greeting, not even a smile YELL at me from across the room to hand over my ID act very annoyed about everything else for the rest of my time at the bar.

...Its not only me, many other friends have experienced the same thing. I've been a bartender for many years and never ever treat my customers like this. Maybe the lady bartenders forgot that Happy customers = Better tips. Regulars or not, why not treat everyone the same. If you get annoyed about having to take IDs, drink orders, and food orders, find a new...

First time and had the worst experience, the server was extremely rude she had an attitude since the beginning. I was sitting in the tables by the pool area and went right through the door that is in-front of the area, to have a smoke outside. When I come back my food and drink were gone my drink was literally full beside I only had a few zips. I tried talking to the server explain I had just walk out for a smoke and the only respond she gave me rudely was that if things are unattended it gets thrown away and that she isn’t babysitting my stuff. I asked to speak to the manager which it wasn’t helpful at all she said the same thing and charge me for the stuff that got thrown away and didn’t even get to enjoy. I was upset at the fact I had to pay for something I didn’t even got to enjoy I was extremely disappointed at the way I was treated and the way they handle things. the place looks nice but the service and the experience I received was terrible definitely would not want to come back. You go out to have a good time and a good experience not to get treated with...

There was a weird towny type vibe when we were here. The setup wasn't very welcoming as a place to eat either. It felt more like a place to drink. The bartender was very nice and attentive to our table. The drinks were super cheap, but there wasn't anything special about them. The corn bites (picture) were surprisingly good. I got the Porkatory and there was nothing special about it either, but I wasn't sure what to expect. It actually tasted almost like a Grand Slamwich from Dennys. One of the people in our party had a mistake on their meal. Another one was missing a key ingredient/condiment. And all of the entrees came with a measly amount of fries. I'm not exaggerating about the fries.....it looked like what my plate would be after I had eaten half of them. Perhaps we caught the restaurant off their game, considering its incredibly high ratings on Google. I personally don't see what all the hype was about and would be unlikely to return the next time I'm in SLC.

Saw this on the foodies list and decided to try it. Wasn’t super impressed. The food was okay but not great. My burger had the perfect amount of heat but not enough flavor. I also ordered loaded fries which had a light drizzle of sour cream, some crispy bacon, and not much cheese. The fries were basically just a flavorless clump of food with bacon. My husband got the rolls (can’t remember the name) and they were flavorful but too crispy (where it starts to near on the charred taste). His taco was very unimpressive. He got it because it was only two dollars and he wanted to try it but it was super bland. The actual bar itself is clean and nice with great service. Our server did great.

Stumbled upon this joint when we visited the antique store next door on a pretty Sunday afternoon. I loved the fried pickles, crow-nuts, and mimosas. My boyfriend enjoyed a brunch meal and cucumber cocktails. Complete with sliced strawberries! The service was good, apparently there's a neat story behind the crow and pitcher, it's a folk tale of persevering, which I liked a lot (like drinking pitcher, not baseball pitcher). It looks like a little dive bar but we enjoyed the cozy booth and pleasant customers. We're looking forward to going back.
