I have been looking forward to eating at Casa Linda for quite a while. A family member and I decided to go in and try the food in between the lunch and dinner hours ,so it would not be packed inside. I was one of the many regular customers of La Morelia for many years since the beginning of their opening . I heard this food was similar , but I don’t see anything similar in the type of food that they serve. The flavors are not the same! I think Casa Linda tries to make a good effort and, some people may find their food delicious, but to me the food has no flavor. It Is really bland in my opinion. I ordered cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. The food did not taste like anything at all. And the hot sauce did not help much, other than making it spicy hot with no flavor .I think everything on my plate needed more spices such as some garlic or onion or cilantro or cumin, oregano or something. I believe they have the potential of being an absolutely fantastic restaurant ! . Their service is really wonderful and the people there are so friendly and kind. The atmosphere is very nice and clean and pleasant. But for me since I am Hispanic, I guess I expect a little bit more. I just feel that they should not make the food spicy hot, but give it a little more flavor and then it will be perfect! I will say that Juan, the waiter is absolutely the best ! He's been there for many years and knows what he’s doing and he is always willing to serve his customers well. Their piña coladas are out of this world ( I only had one drink ). The more I drank the more I wanted! It was very tasty! I also really like the churros with the coffee chocolate sauce. They are delicious. ! I would go back for those items and maybe I will go back to try a bean burrito dish or Chile Relleno. I hope they will listen to my suggestion and add more herbs, spices and flavor to their food, but not make it spicy hot ! That is up to the individual how spicy they want their food. They can always add salsa for that. I noticed that some of the other past reviewers have mentioned how bland the food tastes . I believe their prices are fair for the amount of food that you receive. I spent quite a bit of money on three full meals and drinks but unfortunately I was disappointed with the quality and taste...
Read moreFour of us went here last night. We tried the chips and salsa, chili verde, chili relleno, tamale, cheese enchiladas, rice and beans. Every thing was delicious and the service was good too. We also took a shredded beef chimichanga home to our son. He said it was good, but not the best he has ever had. UPDATE: We went to this restaurant again tonight. My son ordered the chicken chimichanga and he said it was very good. I ordered the number 9 combo. Since a lot of people compare this place to the Morelia restaurant that used to be in this location, I will do the same. I liked the sauce on the cheese enchilada better at Morelia. It was red and this place uses a darker brown sauce. Just my personal preference. The Chile relleno, rice and beans are/were good at both places. The beef tacos are much better at Casa Linda. They are bigger with better flavor and they use shredded beef instead of ground beef. The salsa is also good at both places but I prefer the salsa that Morelia served. The Casa Linda salsa has a good flavor but I got a bite with a pepper that was so hot that it took my voice away for a few minutes. Maybe they could cut the hot peppers into smaller pieces or blend them more because most bites of the salsa were not super hot. The best part of our visit was our waitress. She was very nice. A baby at a nearby table was crying and she went over to their table and kneeled down to talk to the baby. Before she left the baby had stopped crying and her older sister had started smiling. I would go back to this restaurant just to support that sweet waitress. I wish I could...
Read moreI know I’m not the only former regular of the Restaurant Morelia, who was shocked and sad to see it go. Many of us knew David and Laura for years, and ive been going there since 1992. But it sounds like they are on to a better life for themselves and we wish them the best of luck and happiness. So, after recovering from the shock and sorrow, my family and I decided to try its replacement, Casa Linda…..and were pleasantly surprised.
We ordered a variety of dishes to try and weren’t disappointed with any, and I also added onto my order while picking up our take-out. The service was very good, with polite staff, which includes a familiar face or two, who have stayed on at the restaurant. Keeping in mind that Morelia’s dishes are no longer available to us, the Chili Verde is a worthy replacement, as is the chili rellenos. The salsa also is very similar to the former and our complaints are minor.
Casa Linda is worth trying if you loved the prior eatery and I also spotted 2 different tables with other regulars of Morelias, which made me feel better as well. We’ve tried other places, on and off, but this one won us over. Now, my only complaint (again minor) was my #9 combo was missing the beef taco and my wife’s fajitas had no tortillas provided. But, this place is new and still getting up and running, so its understandable. We’re willing to overlook this and return.
But they owe...
