Absolutely terrible experience at this IHOP today. I placed my order online and my wife went to go pick it up since she was out grocery shopping. She called me from the restaurant to let me know that the "person" at the greeting station gave her a hard time about picking the order up. She stated to them that she was there to pick up the order under my name and was questioned very rudely. First, they asked, did she have an order, she said yes, it's under my husband's name, then they asked if she was me, and she stated, no, I'm here to pick up the order under my husband's name, I'm his wife. Then the "person" was very rude saying oh, so you're not the name on the order and snatched the bag of food from her. She then called me and once the "person" heard my voice on the phone, they immediately gave her the food back. When she got home and we looked through the order, we saw that they forgot the pancakes for my order so I called and let them know that I was on my way back up there in order to pick them up and was informed they would be ready when I got to the restaurant. When I arrived, I informed the "person" at the greeting station that I was there because they left off the pancakes from a order under my name. They told me one moment and proceeded to help other customers. This went on for about 10 to 15 minutes with the "person" going back-and-forth, helping other customers and not saying anything at all to me. So after about 20 minutes of waiting. I asked the "person" Hey, how long does it take for an order of pancakes that you left off of my order that my wife picked up earlier and should have been ready by the time I got here? They snapped and said, Oh I don't know. At that point I was fed up and went up to the counter to where the serving line was and I said Excuse me, can someone help me get my order of pancakes? Thankfully, one of the people behind the serving line was gracious enough to help me out they simply asked. Oh, how many pancakes are you waiting on? I told them I was waiting on 3 and immediately they grabbed 3 pancakes and handed it to me. It was really that simple. The "person" at the greeting station really made a simple transaction much harder than it needed to be for both me and my wife. Their rudeness was very...
Read moreI had gone in the morning with my girlfriend to get food at this IHOP, I noticed the patio looked empty so I respectfully asked Julio the waiter/server, if we could eat outside but he answered with a question, and I asked him multiple times if he could repeat himself because he was talking in such a quiet voice, we said if it was too much to ask for then we don’t mind, but he finally insisted that it was alright. we sat down and waited for 20 minutes and after a while I asked him again and he said to just keep waiting, and I asked “waiting for what??” And he proceeded to ask another worker and they just looked confused and laughed, Julio walked back towards my direction, hoping for an answer but he just passed me and kept serving other people that were arriving, I thought it was so unprofessional, so finally I requested to just get the food for take-out, and when I ordered the food, he was confused about what I was trying to order, as if he had never seen their own menu, I had to show and point so that he understood, when I was speaking and loud and clear as possible, we had to wait another 20 minutes while still being hungry, and left immediately once receiving our food which didn’t taste as great as other IHOP’s I had been to, I wouldn’t have cared enough to leave a review about it, but this just wasn’t it, I definitely won’t return to this IHOP, don’t want a similar experience, I might just be mad over the situation, I can’t tell if this worker was new there, but regardless if you can’t provide some sort of question, you should be able to ask another seasoned employee or even the manager about what can be done, and I didn’t want to make a scene so I waited patiently until I arrived home and just now I had the time to make this review, the restaurant itself looks great, the food was barely decent, but service was disappointing, completely ruined...
Read moreThis is NOT a review oF IHOP! It is a review of CHEF K in Temecula on the Temecula Parkway. Somehow, there was a mixup, and IHOP was indicated! Service was terrible. There were 10 of us, and there was only one other group of three, who were already there when we arrived. At first, only one girl served us. Of all the people in the restaurant, she was the only one wearing a Covid mask, and she did not speak loudly, making it hard to understand her. She also seemed not to speak English well. Trying to get recommendations from her was an ordeal. We ordered hot tea, and she brought it in a couple of small, cast-iron tea pots, but not enough for everybody, and we had to keep asking. Then when we wanted more tea, it was just hot water. She must have reused the rea bags. We all ordered, and shared the food, which was derelict in getting to the table. I ordered the French style filet mignon--chunks served in a brown sauce. It was, and I'm not joking, like rubber. Everyone complained. Finally someone else came to help serve, who, I assume, was the owner, and the server's mother. I do have to say that all the food, except for the filet mignon, was very good, though the presentation was lacking. We had reservations for 7:30, and they close at 9:00. Just before 9:00 they started putting chairs on top of the tables; a hint that we needed to get out, which seemed rude. I mean, if they close at 9:00, people could still come in before 9 expecting to be served! The owner (I think) deducted the filet mignon from the check, leaving a total of $339, which one of the party paid as a treat to us all. He added a 20% as a tip, which came close to $70. I said that was too much, and suggested no more than 5%, but he didn't take my advice, and...
