Tijuanazo Birria & Beer — Restaurant in Murrieta

I thought long and hard about rating this place because I have been here more than once, and rated them very high before. The first visit was great, the second and third were mediocre. Sadly this last visit made my mind up to never visit again. It might seem small to anyone else, but for me if you lie to me about my food and serve me something substandard on purpose I can not support your establishment. Our queso birria tacos tasted very weird this visit. But what was upsetting was the server brought me a slice of flan that had what appeared to be water at the bottom. It was extremely dry on the top, like it had been wiped or dried off. When I asked why the flan looked the way it did, the server said they were now selling dry flan because people did not like it with the carmel liquid like topping. 🤔 I LOVE flan and eat flan anytime I have Mexican food. Something was not right. I tasted the flan because surely they wouldn't serve me something bad? It tasted like it had been washed. When I got up to ask the server about it conveniently he was cutting a new flan, so when he looked up he said I can cut you a new slice "we just got some in" how about the new slice had the traditional caramel topping. The new slice tasted amazing. However, IF YOU GIVE ME REASON TO DISTRUST YOU ONCE, I WILL NEVER EAT AT YOUR PLACE AGAIN. Unfortunately, I cannot rate the food because we didn’t eat it. I called the restaurant prior to ordering via DoorDash. I asked the guy on the phone if they seal their bags. He said they don’t have stickers but he can tie the bag. I said okay. My food arrived and the bag was untied and there was a fingerprint (grease) from the food on top of the of the styrofoam container. So I called the restaurant and asked him about it. He said it was the cooks fingerprint and he forgot to tie the bag. He said the dasher had picked it up quickly. When the food was put into the bag it should have been tied. I don’t understand why restaurants won’t invest in making sure customers bags are sealed. You can go to the dollar store and buy stickers.I mean, how would you feel if this were you? As soon as we walked in, the vibes were really good. Customer service was excellent as well. What really did it for me was the food. The food was so delicious! I’m not a huge fan of birria but we were around the area and we wanted to find a place to eat. I ended up getting two quesabirrias with the consome and a cantarito, my hubby got a quesabirria and the birria fries, my daughter is a typical three year old so she got chicken nuggies. Everything came with so much birria and it was so delicious and filling! I got full about halfway but it was so good I couldn’t stop eating. I ended up getting another cantarito cause it was so good. I’m glad we found this place and we definitely will add to our weekend cheat meal rotation restaurants. If you are on the fence about this restaurant, you should definitely try it!
