Big Island BBQ and Tea — Restaurant in Murrieta

This restaurant is more of a take out kind of place. The atmosphere inside is too hot and uncomfortable but smells amazing. The service was somewhat average and didn’t go over the top to be accommodating as they were too busy to care. Could potentially use one more staff member to make patrons feel more valued. The food is very good and I would recommend the garlic shrimp if you’re going on a hot date afterwards. The scallops are nice and have a good crisp to the crust as they are fried. The fire chicken is not as hot as the name suggests but has good flavor nonetheless. We will definitely consider returning for a take out order as the portions are worth the price.

I've been coming here for years to get the grilled salmon and rice. And they are giving less portions when it comes to the salmon. It looks like to me the pieces are thinner. I spend $18.40 on this plate and I'm not even full after I finish eating. But they put a whole bunch of veggies and rice but they definitely have cut back on the salmon. And I have noticed this over several times of purchasing this plate. One time I had to bring it back because it was like little pieces of salmon. They gave me nice size pieces but I think that this is what they're doing now is cutting the salmon in half and making it thinner. I would prefer restaurants leave the food alone and just raise the price more instead of giving less food. So I'm going to have to find me somewhere else to go to...

Closest to the real Hawaiian cuisine, we love the kalua pork, macaroni salad, and short ribs! Don't forget the spam musubi alongside the Lilikoi drinks! UPDATE (04.07.2022) - looks like this restaurant changed hands (ownership/mgt). Service quality also changed - a bit disconnected and indifferent; yet they have the audicity to pressure customers to give (gratuity) tip! I did not like that.
