All American Diner — Restaurant in Muscatine

Farmer's Diner???? Was seated in timely manner. Was offered drinks, and given time to review the menu. We order, very nice,, ask about the Ham, first waitress did not know, second waitress said yes its ham. I ask is it pit ham or processed, they both reasurred me it was real ham. The other order French Dip Sandwich and fries. The wait about 8 mins, first the French dip, then the processed ham, and light hash browns. I tell them on no this is not real ham, and I was sorry that I was just used to better quality of food. Looking at the Fench Dip, first it looked like thin slices of shoe leather, not to say they also may have stepped on it as well. I tell the waitress we will pay for our drinks, she then states ," You do not need to pay for your drinks, because if your do not like it you can leave" like she is telling me this is my fault. Well I will not return. Just remember as customers, we pay for your restaurants too stay open, we pay for your cars, your houses, even the food you buy to eat, that is hopefully better than what you served us. You want to stay in business, Hire a Chef, to teach you how to cook.... Thank you for the experience.. Some one leaving...

We were really excited to try this place after hearing so many great things. The waitress was rude and short with us the second we walked in the door. I am very nice to food staff and didn't see a reason for her to be treating us that way. The food was very bland and not as great as we were hoping. We were still planning to bring all of our kids back in to try their breakfast and give them another chance, we understand there are off days... that was the plan until my husband asked for a refill of his pop it was brought back to him and he took a drink only to discover they had put DISH SOAP in it. It was strong enough to smell in the glass and coated his mouth to the point where after one drink he could blow bubbles.... I will be contacting whoever is in charge of the restaurant first thing in the morning because this is completely...

This was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I loved it when it was the Farmer's diner, but it has obviously went way downhill. I had the steak and it was over-cooked, full of fat, and tasted awful. I had a baked potato and corn for sides. I couldn't even eat the corn it was so bland. The service wasn't TERRIBLE, but she forgot to bring out something, and then didn't ask how our meal was when I paid. I know it's a tough job so I still left her a tip, but the food isn't cheap. The menu said I was supposed to get a dinner role and ice cream with the meal but I got neither. I was ok with it though because it was such a bad experience, I just wanted to leave.
