I frequent El Charro often, despite the fact that Muskogee Health Department has shut them down MULTIPLE TIMES. Look into it for yourself 🤷🏻‍♀️ the food is great, though. I must admit. After my last visit I will NOT be coming back. I also am a manager at a local establishment where dinner and lunch recommendations are requested often. I will not be sending my guests here anymore, either. I came and ordered the same things I always order. To my surprise, when I got the ticket I was charged an extra 5 dollars because I didn’t “order anything”. I get rice and beans, a large margarita with an extra shot, and the chips they serve me. When I asked about this, I was informed that “she had us start charging for chips and salsa because people just come in here and get drinks”. Okay... you know my face. Why not come have a conversation with me about this and let me know politely instead of just handing me the bill and expecting me not to notice. I would have happily obliged had there been some communication and if the girl waiting on me hadn’t made it seem like I was trying to get over on them. I always tip relatively generously given my bill isn’t too high. I also always order rice and beans. Like I said.. a little communication would have gone a long way. Instead you made me feel unwelcome. Well I’ll take my business elsewhere, and the business of my...

I honestly did not plan to eat here on my anniversary, however I'm not disappointed. We were seated within seconds of standing in the door and we were provided with the staple that is endless chips and dip. The food was served piping hot and in wonderful fashion, especially in a pineapple. As for the service, it wasn't the reason that I may not return. The fajitas hawaiiana come serves in a pineapple, which is very amusing, but it lacks in flavor. Don't get me wrong, it had some, but the juice drowns it out. The other concern was grease, you order meat and I understand the grease is expected, but when you can swim in it, that's a problem. We ordered the flan for dessert, which was good, lacking in flavor and the bottom just seemed overcooked. When my husband had to clean his spoon, I was concerned. I know restaurants can miss a few things, but what I would say is to confirm the cleanliness before serving it to your patrons. Note: these spoons are for giants. In case you want good food, good atmosphere and good service, please go on in, but be mindful of the...

This place has really gone downhill since the Owners are no longer in the Restaurant on a regular basis. They opened a place in Bixby, OK and it appears they’ve forgotten about this location completely. The food, service, cleanliness has all gone down tremendously! We were there last night and we are ‘regulars’ at this Restaurant. It’s been declining for a couple of months now but last night was the worst. Can’t see us coming back. On of their Employees had his family and three kids in the Restaurant eating, kids running through the place like it was a playground. Kids literally screaming and crying, they did NOTHING to stop it! Other only other table in the Restaurant made comments to their waiter and he just laughed it off. So their own employees are basically ruining their business…..horrible experience!! We tried LaFinca in Eufaula and it is PROFESSIONALLY run...

I went to this restaurant on Cinco de Mayo expecting authentic Mexican cuisine, as advertised on their sign, but was sadly disappointed. The salsa looked and tasted like it was store-bought. I ordered the Jalisco Dinner (I think) and it looked like garbage, and tasted even worse. The chicken tasted like it had gone bad and the beef was extremely tough. I couldn’t eat more than a few bites of it. The waitress acted as if she anticipated hearing the bad news, because she stood as far from us as she could get, laid our ticket on the table, said “how was your food”, and left without listening. I felt so bad for her, I gave her a generous tip, anyway. When paying for our meal, I told the cashier about the bad chicken, who told someone else, and they didn’t seem to care. I wouldn’t recommend or return.
My Point Of ViewMy Point Of View
Overall, I would give the food a 6 out of 10 as far as Mexican Restaurants go. I was pleased with the salsa, it had some flavor, little heat. It could have used more heat The chips were hot, that is always a plus. I ordered the number 4 and had no complaints, the spinach in my enchilada was fresh, the rice was wonderful and my quesadilla was very good. However, my husband ordered the Speedy Gonzalez, he liked it, and gave me a few bites. The Chili con carne sauce tasted like Wolf Brand Chili, and the refried beans tasted like a can of Fritos bean dip from Walmart. So, not a big win in my book. Had that been my plate, the ranking here would be lower. So, my husband enjoyed his food, but it did not taste authentic, and my plate was good.

(Spanish review at the bottom) This was an excellent experience. From the beginning to end. As we entered, we were greeted with a smile and in Spanish! The feeling I got was so inviting and clean! The decor looked traditional but modern! Bathrooms smelled good and were clean! Our waiter was polite, friendly. The girl bringing chips and salsa was very nice too and attentive. I ordered the lunch fajitas. They were okay a bit dry but the beans and rice complemented well. I noticed that must people that come here are regulars and have a nice friendship with the staff! Thats what made it pleasant for me. At the end, the cashier, a red headed girl that spoke spanish to us and told us her daddy and mom are Mexican from Guanajuato! Awesome place! Impresionante lugar!
