Taco Bueno — Restaurant in Muskogee

Original post: I always have to repeat my order. Food is usually lukewarm. They close sooner than they're supposed to. They wear gloves yet handle money and drinks with the gloves on too. They don't listen. They don't say "thank you". They're rude.

Updated Oct 2023: Even slower than before. The person at the register spent five minutes trying to figure out how to open the drive-thru window. I've been in line for 15 minutes now and no one has come to the window. This is sadly their new norm. The Muskogee in South Tulsa and the one Tahlequah are SO much better. This appears to be a management issue. Contacted management and nothing has changed. They don't care.

Updated April 2024: Something magical has occurred. This location actually got better. The newer guy that's there during the day is way better than the other people that have worked there in the past. Food tastes better, staff is friendlier, order time is faster. I rarely update reviews but this one is worth saying, they're better now.

Update June 2024: Very slow at lunch with every car in line. Took 25 minutes. Some employees there act high. They're moving slowly.

Update July 2024: Impossibly slow at lunch. First car in line at 11 AM, waited 20 minutes at the window. This is insane.

Update Jan 2025: Still slow. Nobody seems to care about their job. Food tastes reheated. Rude...

It SUCKED! Very displeased with your service, Taco Bueno of Muskogee, Ok. I went last week and they were out of red sauce. This week, I waited in the drive thru line for OVER 40 minutes after I placed my order with only two cars ahead of me. While I was waiting, I texted my son to let him know I was picking up food, so I know for a fact that the time I got my food was over 40 minutes from the time of that text. And again, I was already waiting in line before I sent the text. It is not convenient for me to drive to Taco Bueno, Taco Bell is much closer to my house and not so out of the way. I go to Bueno because of the food. And the food I waited so long in line for was tasteless and unflavored. Missing seasoning or something. Very disappointing. Next time, Taco Bell it is as I am not wasting my time with you. I hope you spend some time getting it together as I was not the only person in your drive thru line. If I could have left, I certainly would have. But in the the drive thru, it's a little hard to leave without jumping the curb and driving through your grass. It will be a long time before I waste my time and money...

When I arrived, there were a few cars in the drive-through, so I decided to dine inside. There was no line inside, so I was able to order right away. After ordering, I went over to the condiment bar to get some hot sause, peppers, onions, and pico. The condiment bar was nasty. Only had 3 jalapeno peppers. The onions were turning brown, and they looked like they had been sitting there well past the health department's rules. Pico and salsa looked and tasted fine. The whole bar needed a good wipe down. Grabbed some napkins and a couple of pepper packets, but there weren't any salt packets available.

I sat down at one of the only clean tables I could find. A couple of other people came in the door and ordered. After about twenty minutes, a couple asked me if I had been waiting there long. I told them yes, I had been there for about twenty minutes. Shortly after, my order was ready. The food was warm and very good.

I was just in town for an errand, but I doubt I will return to this Taco Bueno until they hire a manager who cares to come and...
