Charleys — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

I used to love to eat at Charlys. I thought they had a great cheese steak for a mall fast food restaurant. However, I went to the location in the Costal Grand Mall yesterday and got the old school Cheese steak which just has steak, grilled onions & cheese wiz. The steak was either old or over cooked it was hard to tell but it didn't taste right and the cheese wiz had no flavor. The whole sandwich was pretty tasteless with no flavor at all besides what little the onions gave it. I usually get provolone cheese, but I decided to switch it up this time and regretted it halfway through the sandwich. Each bite I took I hoped it would get better but it never did. I couldn't even eat the whole sandwich and I had been smoking THCa flower all day, so I was definitely hungry by dinner time. If I go back here I will definitely stick to my original cheese steak with Provolone order. I almost forgot that I got bacon cheese fries and those were awesome as always. It was a good sandwich and fries were good. The counter and food prep area was a mess. Especially the customer pickup area was a disaster absolutely no reason why 5 mins couldn't be taken to clean up and restock this. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it at the time. The dispensers of napkis, ketchup dispenser all empty and trash and spills everywhere. Just gross. Really hurts what could have been a 4 or 5 star experience. The steak and cheese was great. By itself 4.5 stars, fries needed to be just a bit fresher and not re-fried so they get 3.5 stars. I like vinegar with my fries often but I didn't even bother to ask after seeing the mess. Price was $18 for the large sandwich, fries and drink combo. I said I wanted the largest size which for the drink and fries was not big at all. My gf and I were splitting it. I was full off the split so $9 each pretty great price. I'll go back I like the sandwich just hope it's clean and organized next time and I'll update this review to reflect it like...

Terrible service. We were greeted by a smiling man who seemed welcoming, gonna guess the manager or owner but the girl who made our food was sitting down behind the counter open mouth yawning LOUDLY as if we were BOTHERING her when we walked up. We ordered 2 pepperoni Philly sandwiches and when she asked what I wanted on it, she proceeded to sloppily slap every condiment on it until I couldn't even see it was a sandwich and impossible to eat. The ultimate fries were salty with nasty cheese, fake tiny bacon bits and ranch dressing that tasted spoilt. My bf and I got the same thing and it cost us 25 dollars. NEVER AGAIN. TOO MANY GOOD PLACES IN MB TO WASTE...
