I traveled to S.C. from N.J. to congratulate my in laws on their new home in retirement. This is the closest mall to their home. On 7/14/18 we came straight off the plane and tried to do a little shopping. We entered through the main entrance and made a left at the center. My fiance needed a hair cut. There we men of color who were barking at us in the center kiosk stations trying to get us to buy something. There were so many people walking by, he targeted us. We said no thank you, he continued to follow us for a couple of feet. After my fiance paid for his haircut we walked back towards the center of the mall. The same man, in his 20's, very dark skinned, average height, he had the bottom half of his head shaved and the top half had dreadlocks about 8/6 inches long approached us again. This time barking louder, and he pointed his finger about 2/3 inches away from my face. I shouted, "we arnt interested, you just saw us and we said it." He proceeded to curse and question my ethnicity. And tell me to, "act like a lady". This was disgusting. I have never experienced anything like this. We did not even shop, I felt so unsafe and threatened. My fiance got us out of there asap. I called and left a message with customer service the next day, up until this day I have never received a call back. Monday, I called and spoke with Linda, she was irritated that I did not know what the men were selling and seemed in disbelief that there were 6-10 men of color selling anything. But after I gave her the description of the man and his coworkers who egged him on, it felt a little better. She said she knew who to forward the complaint to. I cannot believe that anything could happen like this. We travel around the world, and to the largest malls in America and never experience anything like this. It is unsafe for women and interracial couples. I never heard back from Linda. Talking about bad for business. My in laws have not returned to your...
Read moreI have NEVER been so disrespected at a hotel in my life! From the second I walked to the sliding glass door, the so called manager was at my face, interrogating me. He treated me like some hoodlum off the street. Me and my boyfriend drove 5.5 hours to get here, arriving at 3:30 in the morning. I had checked us in online which gave us the option to mark what time we would be arriving. I marked the after 10pm slot which was the latest option available. Well before the manager would even let me in the door, he was accusing of me of not having a reservation (he wasn't even anywhere near a computer but demanded my first and last name) then after getting to the computer he informed me that he was in the middle of his night audit and that we would have to wait about 20-30 mins before he could check us in. No apologies, no nothing. When my boyfriend repeated what the man said, the manager got extremely rude and said " yeah, unless i cancel it. I would be happy to cancel your reservation and you guys can go find somewhere else to stay" after that he proceeded to continue to threaten to kick us out and whatnot, all because we were trying to understand what was going on with our reservation, at 3:45 in the morning. He refused to give us his name, or any information about him other then the fact that he was a "manager". Extremely...
Read moreThe food is good and the wait staff and chef services were great. However, a bizarre incident sent my friend's chair falling through a floor tile with her in it! We thought the leg of the chair had broken but the tile was weak in that spot, possibly from a recent tile repair. I say that because a server told us the tile had broken just the night previously and a server fell through the tile. The amount of space between the main floor tile and the subflooring was a more than 12 inches, so if a patron had fallen through the floor while walking it could have been more serious than it was for my friend. As it was, falling from a seated position, she ruined her pastel dress and hurt her side. Management tried to downplay it all and was reluctant to compensate my friend for her dress. My friend was comped for her meal and I rec'd 20% off mine. They just do not realize what a liability issue they have there with the faulty tile floor. The faulty tile at issue is in the middle of the restaurant in the main walkway between all the tables. I'm still shocked this happened and their lack of concern and/or understanding as to their possible liability if that is not taken care of...
