If you see the man with the blue in his hair, just turn around and come back another day. Earlier today, 9/24/25, I came into the store to purchase a topps chrome Disney box. I came to the store with my brother, and even though we both wanted to purchase a box, I was the only one who decided to get one. The woman who helped me was super friendly and helped me with my purchase. This is when the conversation got awkward because as we were leaving the man who I mentioned earlier made an unwarranted rapture joke. I’m not religious at all and it did not offend me, it was just weird that out of all the things to say after hearing our conversation, he decides to make a rapture joke.. a choice I wouldn’t make but… my brother decided to go back later in the day because he now wanted to make a purchase. I was not at the store this time, so he went alone. After waiting some time he finally “helped” my brother by refusing to sell him the product. He claimed that since he didn’t help us earlier he couldn’t tell who purchased the product, so he decided to make the decision to not sell him a megabox. This was extremely odd because he didn’t purchase one earlier in the day. His way of “helping” was by telling him to buy their membership so he could purchase his “second” box, after not even purchasing one. He ultimately decided to leave because why would anyone give him money after that. I don’t get to make it to this GameStop often, however I will be driving even further to other locations to avoid any further awkward encounters. Just wondering who he thinks he is pushing a 25 dollar membership over the 70 dollar trading card...
Read moreOh, how GameStop has changed. What once used to be a pleasant store to visit in the mall in Myrtle Beach is now a place for entitled employees to ignore customers, insult customers, and not want to deal with customers however they can.
I made the mistake of taking my daughter to GameStop today because she wanted to buy a Nintendo eShop card with some quarters she's been collecting. When we approached the counter, the first employee immediately said in a rude and condescending tone, "I'm clocking out," and then proceeded to talk to friends in the store while we waited for another employee. Then the next employee tried to refuse payment and started making all kinds of excuses as to why they shouldn't accept quarters as payment (Which is really stupid). It was not a pleasant experience, to say the least, and I CANNOT in good conscience recommend this store to anyone.
My family have been longtime customers of this store, and we will not be stepping foot in there any more after the last few experiences. Farewell, GameStop at Coastal Grand Mall. You will...
Read moreStupidity The associate was the only one in store that is not the time to do inventory. Told him I couldn't find a game on the shelf but he said they had it didn't bother to check computer. So he goes to to look for it on the shelf xbox 360 I told him it's no big deal about the box, so he gives it to me in the sleeve. After I drive all the way home and go to play the game its for ps3. I didn't bother to check since he was looking in the section I told him. After driving back to the store he didn't apologize at all then told me we don't have it pre-owned that's not what he said earlier and after all the trouble you think he would just give me the new one for the same price since he made the mistake. Nope. Been a loyal game stop customer for over 12 years and with this experience after what I have pre-ordered comes in I just shop at amazon all the time unless the higher up fix the situation. The manager Joe called me a few days later to resolve the issues. I will defiantly give this store another chance...
