I had the pleasure of visiting Delia's Kitchen Family Restaurant on 3rd Avenue South in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to celebrate their 1-year anniversary, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience.
My journey with this restaurant began a year ago, shortly after their grand opening, and I've been consistently impressed ever since. Delia's Kitchen Family Restaurant offers a unique and exceptional culinary journey with dishes that I've never encountered anywhere else. Every time I walk through their door, I can count on her being in the kitchen, putting her heart and soul into each meal.
The atmosphere at Delia's Kitchen Family Restaurant is like dining with close friends, thanks to the incredibly friendly staff. Their commitment to crafting everything from scratch in-house truly shines through in every bite. The flavors of Latin Honduran cuisine are perfectly captured here, making it the ultimate destination for comfort food enthusiasts.
The convenience of a large, free parking lot and a consistently clean restaurant adds to the overall experience. The spacious interior provides ample room for diners to enjoy their meals comfortably.
As for the menu, the chicken tacos are a personal favorite of mine – they are nothing short of amazing. Delia's pupusas, those delectable little cornmeal cakes filled with cheese and meat, are an absolute highlight and arguably the best I've ever had. And let's not forget the horchata; I'm usually quite selective with my horchata, but Delia's rendition has won me over completely.
Having dined here numerous times over the past year, I can confidently say that each visit has been a culinary adventure filled with exceptional dishes and warm hospitality. Delia's Kitchen Family Restaurant is a true gem in Myrtle Beach, and I eagerly look forward to many more memorable meals in the future. Congratulations on your 1-year anniversary, Delia's Kitchen Family Restaurant – you've created something truly special!
From one year ago....This place just opened up. Big clean parking lot lots of room to park. The inside restaurant was clean and inviting, the staff were friendly helpful attentive and knowledgeable. The Honduran fried Chicken was phenomenal the spice and flavor combination was perfection, we enjoyed the fried plantains and the veggie sides, I got three tacos the shells are homemade and delicious the tacos were delicious as a combo I had a chicken, beef, ground beef. They were delicious good tacos. I plan to have the chimichanga soon because it looked really good! I got a few other things on the menu I am looking forward to try as well! They just opened they've still got a few things to work out they'll probably add a few more tables in the dining room currently you got plenty of room in the dining room for more tables. They also have an outdoor patio area that they will get seating for and it will be dog friendly. So come give our newest homemade made from scratch restaurant. We have eaten here 4 times in last week. We...
Read moreSo I have only reviewed a few restaurants ever and I have to say this is one of the worst. We were super excited to try it because the photos and reviews looked great. I just don't understand how they have such good reviews. First off it's hot 🔥 in there and quite uncomfortable. The restaurant seems like it under construction or something but wasn't a good eating environment. The first table I tried to sit at had wet glue on the fabric of the chair so we changed tables. I ordered carne asada tacos, a carnitas burrito, kids steak quesadilla with chorizo queso. Took 10-15 min to get drinks and keep in mind no refills on sodas or tea. Took about 30-40min to get food and was immediately disappointed by presentation. The burrito was not grilled as pictured on menu. The tacos were very bland and small($4) each. The burrito was again not grilled and had literally 1-2 oz of pulled pork. The quesadilla was ordered with side of rice and they brought out nearly raw potatos as "french fries". We almost immediately decided we will never come back and was going to leave it at that. Total for meal before tip was around $47.00 and went to pay and noticed I was charged for the fries and rice so had them fix that issue. After I paid they informed me they forgot to charge me for the chorizo queso so needed additional $7.29 I believe it was. I then let them know how I felt about the food. When I told her the burrito literally had no meat she said and I quote "I highly doubt that" implying I was lying to her. Luckily we had half the burrito and I said I'll show you. She said ok then let's check it out. Once proving to her the burrito actually had no meat in it she shrugged her shoulders and got quiet. I then said have a nice day and walked out leaving my no meat half burrito in to-go box on the table. Yes I paid her for the queso dip and still tipped fairly even though I really didn't want to. She was highly disrespectful and unprofessional. What a major disappointment for an establishment to be so rude and I just can't begin to understand how they are in business. I will add my waitress was very nice and treated us kindly. She did seem new and barely spoke English but that was ok. The girl at the register spoke English well but just decided to be rude and confrontational.
Response - Ill keep this one short. The atmosphere wasn't good, the food was not good and you were rude and confrontational from the start. I understand you are trying to justify your actions and make me seem like a bad person looking for a discount. I never asked you for a discount I was dissatisfied with my food and I still tipped very fairly. If I was looking for a discount I would not have put a tip on the bill. Hopefully you get things together, treat customers with more respect and take the constructive criticism to better your restaurant. Instead you're trying to discredit what I said. You're either going to improve and succeed or continue to stay the same and fail. Good...
Read moreIf you are looking for delicious home-made food at a reasonable price, then get off the main drag and find Delia's Kitchen. Our family was sick of the overpriced, underwhelming food abundant in Myrtle Beach. A quick search for Mexican food in the area brought Delia's to our attention. It was out of the way, but based on the reviews, it seemed worth a look. I have to admit, we were a little apprehensive based on the location, but we are so happy that we decided to give it a try. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and took the time to make recommendations and explain a few new items to us. We tried the pupusas, steak burrito, beef empanadas, flautas, and chips and guacamole. The guacamole was so good, that I barely managed to get two bites before the rest of the family had finished it. The bean and cheese pupusas were new to us, but did not disappoint. Do not skip the cabbage, pico de gallo, and sauce on your pupusas, the flavor combination really works. I have a feeling that a version including meat would be even better. The steak burrito was delicious and of a decent portion. My teenage son had no problem finishing it, but was satisfied with his meal. The beef empanadas were a delicious dish to share. If you aren't very hungry, the empanadas would make a comforting smaller-sized entree. The flautas were as tasty as they looked. We decided to take our meal to go, since we didn't arrive until close to closing time, so please forgive the takeout container in the picture. The salsa verde was delicious, and not spicy. The home-made hot sauce was good, but definitely hot (although, I do not normally eat spicy things, so take my opinion with a grain of salt). If we had the chance to go again, we would get a couple orders of the chips and guacamole, a burrito or two, and then try new dish off the menu. Be sure to get in your car or take and Uber over to Delia's Kitchen,...
