Visited Myrtle Beach from IA between 9/10/24 - 9/12/24 to brewery hop. Visted 5 of 6 (excluding: Independent Republic). Had mixed expectations (due to location & barely open) before visiting this brewery on 9/11 between 6:45-7pm. Doesn't do flights or tasters. Smallest pours is 6oz; Had 3 including the local popular brew "Dirty Myrtle"... none of them tasted that great. When you order they put this wristband on you that which doesn't make any sense since they only serve beer, and don't seem to I.D. anyone if that's what its intended for, reading other reviews it sounds like some sort of "tab" thing which leads to the issue of my experience visiting... placed an order of (2) 6oz to start, was told the total & paid with card, had the wristband put on me right after... 5 minutes before closing I decide to get 1 more 6oz pour, was never told the total... so I'm left to assume they have my info in system to bill me + if the wristband is to confirm an "open tab" or my payment method is in their system.... I finish my beer and start heading out walking back towards downtown, I get 50 feet out the door near the street and the 1 male employee of the 2 employees working that day yells out from their doorway "hey!, you forgot to pay your last beer!"... so embarrassingly I'm having to go back in when I wasn't asked the 2nd time I placed my order for instant payment like the 1st, and what's the point of those wristbands then? When I came back in 1 customer jokingly stated "forget something", and while stating to her I made sure it was loud enough for that employee to hear "I paid with my card last time when I first placed my order so they should have it on file". Tied for worst of...
Read moreOur most recent local discovery: Feels Great + Tastes Even Better 🍻‼️☝🏻Makes me wonder WHY we weren’t here before?! 27 years in Existence - we were told as of Today - and rocking! The Hidden Gem: U better use your GPS to get there. Unassuming from the first glance but the Quality of Beer, expert advice, friendly atmosphere and rusty local coziness: what else to ask for?! I had a 6oz of Tribute: wonderful! fresh. and the Aroma: could smell it All day;))) My beer Loving Expert partner (who loved Dirty Myrtle) followed the advice and had So Dirty said it was satisfying. *Disclaimer: we arrived here After having a beer at the Grand Strand so for me: I had to pace myself because I don’t have a string tolerance for ETOH. I can say with confidence that I will NOT be back to GS (many reasons.) However, I will be back to New South. Do yourself a favor and compare. Because choices are good; they help you to discover who you are. and - guess what? - no Judgement, just a Journey towards what rocks your boat. Philosophy aside: Cheers! and do ask probing questions re: Beer and more; you’ll leave with more knowledge u have...
Read moreWe visited numerous breweries while in town and this was the most unwelcoming spot of the whole trip. I am guessing they do not like tourist. Avoid this spot and hit up somewhere like Voodoo or Crooked Hammock
The bald guy at the bar was very condescending when we entered and asked questions about drinks. Seemed like a very strange attitude for someone working at a brewery. I was not drinking but still had to present my ID. Had my service dog present and he told me he was required to ask what I needed her for or he would "get in trouble". Attempted to speak to him quietly about the matter and he conveniently couldn't hear me. Guess he thought I would yell my business in a room full of people? I had to ask him to come speak to me away from my party to discuss my disabilities. A general answer would not suffice for him and he wanted more details regarding what my dog was for. Meanwhile people without service dogs were inside and entering the establishment as my party drank...
