MY last trip to Myrtle Beach was both a good one & bad one. the good was the "golf" the bad was the lodging. WE stayed @ the Myrtlewood Villas. our Reservations was for two units (side by side). upon arrival we were told the the second unite would not be ready till after 3pm, We were given a pass code to our condo, up on entering we found it to be warm, we adjusted the AC but it did not get cool. The beds were to gather making 2 beds for 4 men.after contacting the office, the sent housekeeping over to pull them apart to make singles, which was more like a kids bed. After the other golfer go in they were put on the other side of the complex. After golf the next day, we had to move the 2nd group of guys over to the unit next to us. The 2nd unit was very cool, so we call the office again, this time they sent a AC guy to fix it (2 days @ 90+ with no AC.) At this point we just focus on the golf. I'm not sure if the one young lady was having a bad day-or-week but she was SHORT with her answers every time we had a request. I have been to MB several times, but this was not a good experenc. I sure they can and hope they do...
Read moreOverall great experience top to bottom. Jason was our liaison, he gave us several reasonable golf package options and helped navigate the tee times and lodging once we decided without any issue. We stayed at the Barefoot Yacht Club villas to play the Barefoot resort courses (Norman, Fazio, Love and Dye). The villa was massive with 4 beds, full kitchen and living space, 2 balconies and washer dryer. Biggest con was they do not pick you up from the villa and it’s basically too far of a walk so you either need a car or plan on u wrong to and from the clubhouse daily. The courses were all in great shape and unique enough that it felt like you were playin at totally different places each day. Pro shop and cart guys were friendly. Clubhouse is really nice, food is average. Morning rounds move along at a good clip whereas the afternoon replays get bogged down pretty quickly where at this time of year it’s hard to get in more than 9 in the pm (4-5 groups on a hole). The Dye course is the gem of the resort.
Overall we were all very pleased and GMB app made it super easy. Would...
Read moreSea Trail is 1 mile over the bridge to Sunset Beach. Sunset Beach is the best beach in North Carolina. You can park your car for free on the side of main street - Or if you get there in time you can park all day for $10 at the pier. This Vrbo is spacious (agree larger than pictures show) and practical (!) -it is great if you have two couples needing some space as well, The second bedroom is basically a mini suite. This Unit is pretty aesthetically outdated, the washer and dryer are not great, and there is no garbage disposal and no elevator. Unfortunately the people staying directly below us smoked on the back porch too often, (terrible smells) - but that’s a wild card chance with units (hopefully they don’t live there ). Honestly everything else was amazing. Loved our stay and Bistro 55 nearby was great too. -we all liked Watching golf carts and players drive by from the back porch, and pretty great golf course per husband. Owners were responsive , we were thankful for the two car parking and the one hour late checkout that was allowed:) Great space , great...
