We stopped in this place on the weekend, as we usually do. The places was a little more empty than usual, but we just figured it was off season and it may be slower. There were four of us, and each of us ordered our drinks and soup. We ordered off the regular breakfast menu -- eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, bacon -- and one BLT. We sat. We waited. One new table came in and they sat and were served their food. "Ok," I thought. "There's only two of them so may be it was quicker to cook." And we waited. Another couple came in and they sat down and were served. That's when we left. Our waitress wasn't around enough to ask about our food nor did she let us know there was a problem. All four of us work in the service industry, including myself who also works for a tourism and entertainment website for Myrtle Beach. So, when a tabletop of four service industry people get up and walk out, you know the service is bad. The waitress abruptly asks, "Is there a problem?" I told her that we've been here a half hour and two other tables who came here after us were served before us. Her response: "I didn't know you were in a hurry." Instead of apologizing or trying to explain what happened, she went on the defensive. She said our food was coming right out and I told her to make it to go. We will not be going back here no will we recommend it to visitors of our area. There are plenty of other places in Myrtle Beach who are deserving of our...
Read moreWish I could give them zero stars. Service and food were equally bad. We’re a family of two adults and a 12 yo. Server took our order, brought our food, and we never saw her again. There were plenty of open seats. The food came out cold and they forgot our bread. The mashed potatoes were chalky, the burger was dry, the okra was mushy, the cabbage tasted like water, the cube steak tasted old. We hoped That desserts would help the situation, but after 20 mins, we still couldn’t get anyone to come to our table. We finally asked the lady behind the counter, Viola if we could order dessert. You would have thought that we had asked her for a kidney. She sent a different server out with the dessert and was literally slamming the buttons on her register when we checked out. As for dessert: the apple crisp was pure sugar and the chocolate eclair had the consistency of peanut butter. We obviously won’t be back. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Only good thing about the place is it’s cheap and there’s enough of it. There’s clearly an employee issue there that needs to be addressed. They might also look into getting fresh food. If they hey can’t, they shouldn’t call themselves...
Read moreMy lovely bride and I visited Victoria's Country Cookin' on 3rd Avenue South, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this evening. Emily cordially greeted us and brought menus to our table. She gave us plenty of time to choose our meals. About 3 seconds after I laid my menu down, Emily walked up to our table and asked if we were ready to order. After telling her how observant she was because she must have seen my put my menu down and Emily immediately came for our order, she smiled and thanked me. I ordered the Chicken Strips meal with coleslaw for the Young and Not so Young for $6.99. My meal included bread so I ordered cornbread. My lovely bride ordered the Ham Steak with stewed tomatoes and a baked potato as her two sides. Her meal cost $8.99. Our meals arrived in less than 10 minutes. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The service was outstanding, as it always has been for years, and the atmosphere was family-friendly, comfortable, and enjoyable. The parking was plentiful. This Level 8 Google Guide is awarding 5-star ratings on all criteria. I highly recommend Victoria's Country Cookin' and Emily to family and friends. Please give them a try, you will NOT be...
