Friendly's — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

Walked in this past Saturday with a group of 8, it was a requested place for someone in our group's birthday and we understood that it may take a while to get seated. We stood at the door for 5 solid minutes and NOONE (workers walking by or the manager at the ice cream counter) even acknowledged our presence. Half of the restaurant chairs were already put up as if they were closing and it was only 7pm. We continued to wait until about 10mins in an employee walks over to the host stand and just stared at us, did not say one word. When one in the party told her we had 8 (since she didn't even ask), no lie, she smacked her teeth, rolled her eyes and blew out a breath like she just had no time for us. I then told our party "No we are leaving now". Understandably if you are short-staffed we get it but that was just absolutely unnecessary and unacceptable. Which goes for the manager who didn't acknowledge us either. The WORST I have ever been treated at a Friendly's. And whomever this may concern, don't even consider responding to this review because there is NOTHING that an apology can do about that. And if you are short-staffed it's understandable but at least put the sign back up to make people aware of this. Giving one staff because I have been to this location before and was not treated this way but we were all appalled. And last thing, even if you are short staffed why in the world would you want employees with such a horrible attitude...

The burgers are phenomenal!!! They are always cooked to perfection!!! The Honey BBQ bacon burger with crispy onion strips is one of my favorites! The BBQ sauce gives it an extra zest & it will definitely delight your palate! The ice cream is a "must have" anytime we eat here! There are so many options & flavors to choose from; anything from cones, milkshakes or sundaes & everything in-between that you could possibly think of! Friendly's is one of the BEST SPOTS for burgers & ice cream while visiting Myrtle Beach!! We definitely look forward to eating here on every beach trip!! The customer service was okay, nothing extra! However, the taste of the food certainly made up for what they lacked in the customer service department! On our 2nd visit to Friendly's, the server, Erica, was AWESOME!! She was professional, personable & much friendlier than the server on our 1st visit, so this visit redeemed my confidence in the GREAT customer service we have ALWAYS experienced!!! Thank you Friendly's & DEFINITELY keep Erica out front or serving where everyone who visits can experience her exemplary customer service!!! Went to friendlys at N Kings Highway tonight for a meal with my family and there was three parties all together paying separately. When we got our bill they were trying to tell us that we had to pay 18-22 percent on a tip each due to us coming in as a party even though we paid separately!! So all told and done we paid all together around 60-65 dollars for a tip. We talked to the manager and he just shut us right down being rude the whole time and wouldn’t offer any help after stating we couldnt use a 10 percent off coupon on our meals. For going to Friendly’s that’s a pretty hefty tip I mean I never paid that much before going to a Friendly’s. So just wanted to voice my opinion and aware people of what they are doing to large parties that go there. And the funny thing is that we had another party of about 6 people who sat behind us that left a $2 dollar tip so how is that far to us being told what we are paying when they can pay that ?? But I will never go back there and I want everyone to be aware of how rude the managers are there and to never go as a big party or you will be forced to pay a crazy amount on a tip!
