I have been a client of Hachiya express, former Myabi express. I have Celiac Disease and always trusted them because they offer GF in their menu. I was there today and placed my order to go. While I was waiting there, I saw how they prepared my order right in the front grill were they cook all the orders full of gluten specially with soy sauce containing wheat for other people. The manager was there because it was a problem with another person’s order. I told him that my food should be prepared apart because it was supposed to be gluten free, he told the chef to make a new order for me and the chef proceeded to cook my shrimp in the same grill where he made mine and everyone else’s before. I said you don’t get it. That is cross contamination and can make me really sick. They told me that they always cook all the meats in the same grill (where they use gluten sauces) and the rice and vegetables in the kitchen. I was really angry because why they offer GLUTEN FREE food if they don’t care or have any concerns about the public health and they just cooke it together, with no remorse. Gluten free is not just a new food trend as many people think. Any food containing Wheat, Barley or Rye contains gluten, which for sensitive or Celiac people can became not only very painful, but in cases like mine can send you straight to the hospital. Read moreI ordered the hibachi shrimp entree, but it was processed by the cashier as hibachi chicken (she even had me confirm to her that I wanted shrimp), which I didn’t notice until the food was served and it was chicken instead of shrimp. I went ahead and ate it since I also like hibachi chicken and didn’t want to wait, but I’m sure they would have made the shrimp if I would have mentioned this to them. The chicken was good and you get a generous portion size for what they charge. The fried rice was just ok, but was dry and didn’t have much flavor like most hibachi places do, so that was a little disappointing. I don’t think that will change because the food is AMAZING, but the past two times I’ve come here the cashier that takes my order is rude. My last receipt says “Server: Amanda A”. We were never formally greeted. When we asked for 2 drinks she “slammed” the cups on the counter, and when I paid for my food, I wanted to get a SMS receipt, but before I could even click it she just hands me a hard copy and gives me my table marker. She never smiled at me or my girlfriend and her attitude made it seem like she did not want to be working, and that came across clear to me.
