Roll Out — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

Well we finally tried Roll Out for the first time, and honestly, I don’t know if I walked into an ice cream shop or a teen summer camp. A group of younger boys were running the place—they were nice, but totally out of their element. Our order took a while, mostly because a group of teen girls (who were in sandy bikinis assuming they came back from the beach) had already apparently ordered when we got there. But here’s where it got really concerning… the workers actually let some of these girls go behind the counter to actually roll ice cream! Yep, you read that right. Meanwhile, there were paying customers both standing in line and sitting down, just witnessing this unsanitary disaster unfold. Like, I don’t know much about health codes, but I’m pretty sure sand and swimwear aren’t part of proper food handling. If I were the manager, I’d be sweating bullets.

The ice cream? Eh. Not bad, but for the price, I honestly expected more—maybe some actual toppings instead of just the chopped roll. I probably misjudged based on online photos, but either way, the whole experience left a weird taste in my mouth (and it wasn’t the ice cream itself). I recently visited Roll Out in Myrtle Beach, and it was an amazing experience! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly staff who were super enthusiastic about their ice cream. The whole process of watching them make the ice cream right in front of me was so cool!

The flavors are out of this world! I tried the cookie dough and it was packed with chunks of cookie dough and chocolate. The texture was so smooth and creamy—it melted in my mouth! Plus, I loved being able to customize my rolls with all the fun toppings they offer.

We are here on vacation and decided to drive out of our way to get some rolled ice cream. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with the customer service and the overall quality.

When we arrived there were 2 families in front of us. They received their orders quickly and we received one of our 3 ice creams. Then another family walked in and they took their order, instead of making our last 2 ice creams. Instead of making our ice creams one of the two workers took off to wash dishes. 20 minutes later the family behind us received their order and our order which was rushed and a mess dripping the side of the cup.
