First off I'd like to say I originally tried to call about 4 or 5 times to place an order. They either have childish and immature people controlling the phone and or they don't believe in out of town calls, which is weird being that it's a spot everyone Vacations at. Anyways, first time I called they immediately hung up before it finished ringing. This was around 6:40ish Saturday Night on 8/26. Next two calls they let it ring a few and then hung up. The 4th time someone picked up and mumbled something and then just sat there not saying anything with me responding. After the dumb tries in trying to place an order by calling I decided to go up there since they are 1 mile from my dad's house. Get there around 7pm and the place wasn't busy at all maybe had two different tables eating. Lot of young people behind the line, actually too many people for how NOT BUSY it was. Ordered about 82 in food for two people. Way more than I should had. But I got California Rolls and Mon Orange Rolls. Both made well and tasted fresh and good. Got a large Teriyaki chicken bowl and Steak bowl. Those bowls alone are good enough to fill you up and tasted amazing. Got 2 pan fried dumplings, tasted amazing. Also grabbed 2 Shrimp Wonton soups. The dumpling was so good with a burst of flavor biting into each. Lastly ordered a Hibachi and Zucchini that was also good. The whole meal itself, was amazingly good. Downside, I think it best they put an actual adult or at least a mature employee at the station to pick up the phone. I can see why it's not busy. I feel like workers are running away Money for a place that serves really good food for real....

What can I say about this phenomenal place? Plenty. 1.Owner is hands on. Works diligently, and always polite. When he learned my brother passed away, he prepared his usual order for me gratis in my brother's honor. He didn't have to do that, but he did. Staff are sweet, kind, and talented. They prepare the excellent tasting food quickly, efficiently, and I never see anyone complaining. They are Awesome. Bathrooms are clean. Checked routinely. Sweet tea. Y'all, it's one of my favorite spots to grab this Southern nectar. If the owner wasn't so awesome, this would be #1 listed. Clean place to sit and eat. He supports special needs families. Watch out for the potholes turning in from beaver run rd. They're not his fault. Sushi is good here. There are other quick serve hibachi around here, and while there are some people who really like that restaurant, Mon Cafe doesn't overcharge and serve subpar food. I've Never had a wrong order, overcharged, or bad food from Mon Cafe. There's a points rewards system here. $10 off for every $100 spent. It'll add up before ya know it. 😉 It's a quaint spot I discovered a couple decades ago. It's full of good memories, good food, and...

Oh, there are a lot of people angry at this restaurant right now! I wonder if the restaurant even knows about an app called Next Door. The restaurant is being discussed in a very negative light because of something they are now doing which is called adding a "service charge" and no, I don't mean a credit card fee. As you can see, cash was paid for this transaction and they still added a 3.85% "service charge." They actually said that it's a common practice and yet no one can find any other restaurant that does this on a cash transaction. It's one thing if the restaurant has increased costs and they need to increase prices on the menu but if they are too lazy or cheap to print new menus, they cannot expect to add a "service charge" to their customers without irritating and abandoning a lot of them. If they were actually smart, they would simply say on a sign right there by the register that says "due to increased costs, we have increased our menu prices by 3.85% but because we have not yet printed new menus, it will just be added at the end. Thank you for understanding." However, they just decided to add a service charge. Let's see how this goes for them in...

If I could give this place a negative 5 stars, I would. I ordered a spider roll, and it was not a spider roll. It was a roll dipped in terrible tasting orange sauce, and it was not wrapped in nori. This is not real sushi, but it is sold at Cali sushi prices. I did receive my money back. I also had to go to the counter to receive the water I ordered. Terrible customer service, and no crafters present. The soup tasted like watered-down Campbell's soup. Not my thing for sure. See the attached image to see the original Yelp review.
