I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hi-Pot Korean BBQ and Hot Pot on Loyola Dr in Surfside, and the experience left me utterly impressed and satisfied. From the moment I walked in, the inviting ambiance and friendly staff set the stage for a memorable culinary adventure.

The star of the show at Hi-Pot is undoubtedly the Korean BBQ. The interactive grilling experience at each table adds an element of excitement to the meal, allowing diners to tailor their dishes to perfection. The quality of the meats is exceptional – tender, flavorful, and expertly marinated. The extensive selection of premium cuts, including beef, pork, and chicken, ensures that there's something for every palate.

The hot pot experience at Hi-Pot is equally outstanding. The broth options are diverse and rich in flavor, ranging from the classic to the more adventurous. The fresh ingredients provided for the hot pot are of the highest quality, and the customizable nature of the experience allows for a personalized and satisfying meal. The dipping sauces, a crucial element of any hot pot experience, are thoughtfully crafted, adding an extra layer of deliciousness to the overall dining experience.

What truly sets Hi-Pot apart is the attention to detail and the commitment to quality. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, always ready to assist with the grilling process or recommend the perfect combination of ingredients for the hot pot. The cleanliness of the restaurant is impeccable, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for diners.

The menu at Hi-Pot is thoughtfully curated, featuring a variety of appetizers, side dishes, and desserts to complement the main attractions. The beverage selection includes refreshing options that perfectly complement the bold flavors of the BBQ and hot pot.

In addition to the delectable food, the pricing at Hi-Pot is reasonable, considering the quality and quantity of the offerings. Whether you're a seasoned Korean BBQ enthusiast or a first-time hot pot explorer, Hi-Pot Korean BBQ and Hot Pot on Loyola Dr in Surfside is sure to exceed your expectations.

Hi-Pot Korean BBQ and Hot Pot is a gem in Surfside, offering a culinary journey that tantalizes the taste buds and leaves a lasting impression. With its stellar service, high-quality ingredients, and vibrant atmosphere, Hi-Pot is a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional Korean BBQ and hot...

We went for a friend's birthday. They sat the 6 of us at a table for 6. Sounds reasonable, but the issue is there's only one grill on the table and the grill is probably large enough for only four people. We had to take turns cooking and two people had to constantly stand and reach over everyone to use it or be helped by someone else with their grilling.

You can choose grilling or a boiling pot as your method of cooking, or both. Again that sounds reasonable, but everyone must make the same choice. This basically forced everyone to pay for both to accommodate half watching one method and the other half wanting the other. I didn't really understand this rule as the buffet is all you can eat. It didn't prevent some sort of sharing.

Additionally the table space wasn't enough for six people, especially given the fact that there were six boiling pots and a grill all operating at once.

Overall the food itself was average. I'll admit that my cooking might have been a small part of this issue, but only a small part. I started out trying to use the boil pot and grill but continually forgot about the boil pot while trying to babysit the food of six people on a single grill. After 5 minutes I gave up on it and waited my turn for the grill.

I can say that everyone did have a good time and our waitress was wonderful! If I find my receipt I'll come back and add her name. She deserves a raise!

Unfortunately this was likely a "one and done for us." We all agreed on this. However, we did say we would consider going back if we did boiling pots only, as everyone gets their own OR if they changed their policy forcing the entire party to choose the same cooking method.

The price for us with tax was just under $80. Keep in mind we did not order drinks, alcoholic or otherwise. Thanks again to the sweet, attentive and enthusiastic waitress who also remembered our birthday boy with a...

I feel like we got entrapped in a payment structure that was so wildly insane that we kind of just rode the experience to the end to see if it was worth it. Spoiler, it’s not.

So essentially your entire table has to agree on either just hot pot or just grill. If even one person at your table wants hot pot and the others want grill…. You’re now forced to all pay for the combo of both, or that single hot pot will have to make the sacrifice to do grill instead. Which… is INSANE. Haha. Let’s not forget that this is a buffet and costs $35. So our entire table was forced to buy the combo option so that we could actually each get which one we wanted. If we didn’t want the hot pot, because we now have the combo package, we were forced to pick a broth option anyway. So we had hot boiling soups just sitting there while we grilled or visa versa. Also, My kid just wanted French fries, but there is no al la carte options, so we were also forced to buy him a kids buffet ($15) for just French fries. Hahaha. It was a humorous $200 spent.

Food quality is good, but not $200 good. For reference, we’ve been to countless hot pot places, and this has never been the process. The perk of going to this kind of restaurant format is the freedom to pick and choose your food and how you want to cook it. Most of the time, to avoid theft or people exploiting the meat options; you have an iPad or paper menu to select your meats and your selections are brought out to you. This is layout like a buffet where you actually go pick out your raw meat options on to a plate and bring it back to your table to cook.

Side note, watched a lady in front of me and the buffet stack ALL, like every last one, of the crab legs to take to her table. Went back later to see if they replenished them, nope. Never got to eat a crab leg. Haha.

We were pleasantly surprised to discover Hi-Pot, an all-you-can-eat hot pot and grill restaurant, during our visit to Myrtle Beach. The area can be a bit limited when it comes to authentic ethnic cuisine, so this was a welcome find. Hi-Pot offers a wide variety of fresh meats and ingredients for both hot pot and grilling, making it a great option for groups with different preferences. The service was excellent, and everything arrived promptly. We visited mid-afternoon, so it wasn't too crowded, but the atmosphere was still inviting. Our particular favorites were the flavorful garlic pork and the perfectly marinated Galbi (short rib) for grilling. While everything else we tried was delicious, the only minor suggestion we have would be to slice the hot pot meats a bit thinner, similar to shabu-shabu style. This would allow for even faster cooking in the hot pot broth. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Hi-Pot. The fresh ingredients, excellent service, and fun cook-at-your-table concept make it a must-try for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience in Myrtle Beach. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Let's just say Interesting & Very Pricy & a bit Difficult. The food that I knew of was good like the shrimp, zucchini, mushrooms, asparagus, onions, thin beef, & goya. There were PLENTY of food items that I didn't have a clue as to what they were. Just note that if there are 2 eating then both must get the same cost item on the menu, so if 1 gets Hot Pot & BBQ the other person must also get both $34.99 each, kind of understandable because no sharing. We didn't realize that so much oils/spices/sauces were needed. Overall the restaurant was nice, the staff was friendly, the food was mostly fresh like the veggies & some meats with quite a bit of frozen items, & the buffet area was very clean. Some good SuggestionS to the owners would be = = A timer on the table for cooking times (not my phone). = A regular spoon (not slotted). = Some written recipe directions. = More explanation of the broth & the fact that if you don't like it you can change broth but ONLY once. = What spice or sauce needs to be added to the broth when we thought the broth was ready. = Photos or descriptions of what some items on the buffet were.

First time going to a Korean BBQ. First if all the service from Kristina was First rate throughout. Since we were newbies, she took the time to walk us through the buffet and show us how to make sauces and lots of other personal service tips. Each table is equipped with a grill in the middle and the possibilities from the food bar are almost limitless. We got the BBQ and did not get the hot pot offering but from looking at other tables it looks very good too. It is just $5 more to get Hot Pot with the BBQ. The steak and beef and pork bulgogi has seasoning and a texture that is unique and delicious. The cold seafood selection of shellfish, shrimp, and more us extensive. The variety of fish balls and tofu and other strange and different selections all look so fresh and well displayed. Salads including Kimchi, seaweed, and squid. Deserts include ice cream, lychee and other goodies. All in all we were unable to try everything (i dont think anyone could), but now we know what to try when we go back. Don't forget to get some rice on the side and do your best.
