FOOLING THE PEOPLE: WHAT HAPPENED PANDA? May 10, 2022. I ordered a bigger plate with greens, grilled chicken, etc. The plate given to me looked inedible. There were no greens and the grilled chicken was completely pitch black char! What? I did not leave the drive-thru. I asked for the manager. My phone will not let me write his name which is similar to Robert.

Previous managers Tim and then Eric are no longer there.

At first the cashier lied and said she was the manager. Then, the manager apologized and gave me a more normal looking plate. I drove off.

When I went to eat it, I noticed something was weird with the greens. I saw yellow, then I saw this bitter tasting broccoli rabe. I was shocked!

I called customer service. I was not going to drive 20 minutes for an argument. Customer service put me on hold. I told her I called to check with North Charleston store in SC. They said Greens are Cabbage, Broccoli, and Kale.

Wow!!! I knew that! Broccoli Rabe is not on the menu. Customer Service asked ,"How would you know what broccoli rabe is?" Wow. Then she said the store said I kept the first meal, and was looking for a free meal.

I was miffed. I did not even eat or touch the first meal! I had not left the drive-thru. I gave it to Robert, the manager. I could not believe they would lie. I know what broccoli rabe is because it has a very bitter taste to it. It does not taste like broccoli.

I told her that how dare they lie! I told her I will text you right now the picture of what they put instead of broccoli!

No Panda, you are CONNING the customers. And my sides were not fresh. The peanuts were so black I thought they were beans. The string beans wilted, and chicken hard. I know you all are SLOW at lunch before 5 PM, but PANDA JUST DOES NOT CARE .

CUTTING CORNERS, PANDA? But lying, that is low. I told customer service that I have been going there since it first opened, and Alicia was the manager. And go ask how I paid, with a $100 bill. So, know, you guys are ripping me off, by putting in something that is NOT EVEN ON THE MENU!

I took pictures, and if there is a way to post them, I will. I know they are not busy until after 5 PM, but I should not get penalized with old food, and disgusting substitutions, so they can cut costs....

6/5/2019 Horrible Service, all the waitstaff are on zombie autopilot akd give horrible service..food is not ready, get an"ugh" when they need to cook something thats not there...food is not being ordered properly because we came in and theyre out of greenbeans.....Small Portion sizes compared to other pandas and their excuse is "food costs"....if u can avoid and wait till u go home and eat at panda there i would highly recommend u do that...its just like everywhere else in Myrtle beach..its good the first week and them the lazy people bring it down

and 7/9/2024,here we are another 5yrs later.... i figured id give it another try and holy moly its gotten waayy worse...now theyre not even cooking the staple items anymore and theyre excuse is" were not gonna have that anymore", when the next location like 40mins up the road in NMB has it.. the portion sizes are all like half a scoop now and they try and fluff it up so it looks bigger, its so funny to watch..the costs have gone up around 40% atleast and dont make any sense at all for what u get..well, it does make sense if u think and realize theyre trying to rip every single person off as much as possible, the more they can short each person, the more shorted meals they can sell..theyre learning how to rip people off in new ways...shrinkflation is one thing but its out of hand here...the place doesnt get enough business sp they rip off the few customers that do come in

Update 3/13/25....still they have not got back in their staple black pepper chicken that every other location...

I am so glad I didn’t read reviews and went with my over enthusiastic need for Panda. I don’t have one in VA and I try to get it when I see one. I come to MBSC a few times a year, this year I had a lot going on and didn’t want to cook. I door dashed Panda, I’ve never had it from this location and I thought I ordered too late. I called them apologizing profusely and the nicest guy told me not to worry they were open for another hour! Food came and somehow it was piping hot, even more amazing was the large order I had put in was perfect. Not a single thing was missing and I was feeding myself, husband and 7 teens! Perfect, delicious and it was good for a late night snack. Next day I was out running errands and noticed the location, I decided to get it again. Maybe it’s luck but once again everything was hot and incredibly good. The staff was super busy and had fresh food out as quick as possible. I’m going to miss it but next trip I’ll...

I was excited to finally be able to go to a Panda Express again after they closed up shop back in CNY. They offered the same menu I remembered enjoying many years ago - I opted for the new spicy orange chicken with chow mein. I got the bowl which is 1 meat 1 side. My family members each got their own bowls. The rice had no flavor and definitely needed the help of soy sauce. The chow mein was average. The spicy orange chicken was in fact spicy but I thought the portion size was small and Panda Express heavily favored the side portion. While only a small inconvenience, it was annoying that the “bowl” option was put together on a plate. I’m glad I was able to try Panda Express again but there was nothing offered that would make me pick this place (taste and price point) over any other Chinese food establishment.

Lobby was closing at 6PM. I totally understand that. We walked in at 5PM and the staff was rude. They told us that this is all the dishes we have. They were limited to 6 dishes that looked like they were sitting out for hours. The guy in the back yelled out that they wouldn't be able to serve us unless it was to go which was fine for us but you didn't have anything edible to serve. Then he slammed down some metal dishes and made a lot of noise which scared our 8 yr old son. So we left to avoid any dangerous situation FYI this was our first time visiting. Also while we were looking for somewhere else to go get something to eat two more customers left without being served.
