This was hands down the worst meal and service of our Myrtle Beach vacation. We had eaten here over a year or so ago and enjoyed it but it has gone down hill. We should have known when we walked in at prime dinner time and seating was wide open. This leads me to my first complaint. We were a party of 5 and there were numerous open tables that would have accommodated us all over the place. Yet the hostess seated us back-to-back with a party of 7! And when I say "back-to-back" I mean LITERALLY! I actually turned around in my seat and had a conversation with the lady directly behind me at the other table. I'm sure this was to accommodate our server (who was also the bartender for the entire restaurant that evening). The salad was awful. It was just bagged salad with that funky smell and taste that almost all bagged salad has. My Oysters Rockefeller had the tiniest oysters I'd ever seen and no bacon as advertised on the menu. It was primarily baked cheese. Even something as simple as the Fish and Chips and Hush Puppies were subpar compared to those items in other Myrtle Beach restaurants. After waiting for an extended period of time for our checks (we had to go to the bar to get them) the bartender/server had added an 18% gratuity because we were a party of 5. I know this is standard procedure for parties of 6 or more but for a party of 5 I thought it was extreme. We are good tippers and typically leave 20% or more but with this particular experience we probably would have left less due to the terrible food and service. My Dad left a note on his receipt pretty much stating that. We will not be back. There are FAR better choices in...

Keep in mind when reading reviews of places that are in tourist towns the staff changes that happen and volume of business. A family member asked some construction workers where the locals eat and he said this place. Our large party ordered oysters steamed and fried, 2 lbs crab legs with 2 sides, chicken tenders for a kid, baked potatoes and a salad. Everything was fantastic. We were shocked at the amount and quality of the crab leg for $40 (special). They were good size and cooked well. Chicken tenders appeared to be hand battered in house and were really good. Most places just have the frozen in a bag kind. Waiter was fantastic and food was correct when it came out of the kitchen which is a huge deal for a larger party of people. At the same time as we were having a great experience the people beside of us were giving the waitress a hard time (my teenage daughter who even has an attitude said she felt sorry for the waitress) and sent food back a couple times while loudly voicing opinions that no one else dining cared about. Some people are just hard to please and are going to leave a bad review. All in all I will for sure eat here again. We walked right in and were seated quickly, food was hot and fresh, everything was clean and the staff were great. Is this a white table cloth sit down fancy restaurant? Nope. But for a Tuesday night birthday dinner with kids who wanted to snap some crab legs and have a good time this is the spot. And as for the rude customers beside us, may you see this post and reconsider how you treat others who choose to serve others for work. Kindness...

Nope. I don't know what the person was thinking who recommended this place, but every single thing we ordered was gross. Especially for being right next to the ocean, this was not impressive at all. We were expecting fresh seafood. Not at all.

We are clam chowder fanatics, and this place doesn't have good clam chowder. Sorry.

The stuff mushroom was just a large mushroom with spinach on top and a really weird wine vinegar sauce on top. Not good.

The side salad uses a spring mix lettuce. Had I known this, I wouldn't have ordered it. Menus need photos!

The seafood alfredo tasted ok, just normal. Definitely not $20 worth.

Fried green tomatoes sauce tasted weird, but with ranch it was better. Then again, add ranch to anything and it's better.

The California roll was bad. Looked prepackaged and shipped (even though I know it wasn't). We get sushi everywhere we travel, this place wasn't good.

The crab legs tasted like regular crab legs. I could have closed my eyes and though I picked them up from a land locked state. I was expecting better being on the coast.

Boom boom fish tacos were rated as 9/10. So I guess this was the best item we got in our group.

Burger, we didn't even finish it.

Mac and cheese, cheese tasted weird.

The complementary hush puppies were amazing though. Good job on that!

Aside from the hush puppies and the tacos, no one...

Mr. Fish used to be one of our go-to restaurants when in the area. But it had been a number of years since our last visit. So we decided to change that and I am so glad that we did. We arrived a few minutes after 8pm on a Saturday night. Although a chalkboard sign by the door said they were closing at 8, they assured us they were still open. We were promptly seated. Our waitress Michelle was phenomenal the entire night. She was extremely friendly and attentive. She never made us feel rushed despite us being one of her last few tables. She went over and above to make sure that we had absolutely everything we even thought we needed. She also worked with us to accommodate our son's gluten-free allergy. All of our food was very good. The complimentary bite-sozed hush puppies were addictively yummy. I ordered the fried oyster po-boy with fries. My son for the blackened corvina fish sandwich on gluten-free bread with fries and the cucumber- tomato salad. My daughter had the kids' fried flounder with fries. My husband got the fried lobster special for $30 which was an insane deal!! Overall it was a great experience. I'm glad to see this small business is still thriving after so many years!

Delicious food, friendly service! I went with a group of 5 Adults, and 3 children during Happy Hour. We all enjoyed a few appetizers and an entree dish a few of these items pictured below. Fried Green Tomatoes were very hot and had an amazing breading with them, I would recommend this appetizer. Tuna Bites were also very delicious, my 6 year old niece even at some and she tends to be picky with meats. This dish is essentially a grilled tuna steak cut up into small chunks. Fried Calamari Rings (not pictured) were very good as well, the breading was perfect and came with a nice sauce to dip them in. These can be a bit chewy so some children may not enjoy them. Boom-Boom Shrimp Tacos were delicious and had large shrimp drizzled with boom-boom sauce in a soft tortilla wrap with a few garnishments on the side to top as you wish. Gluten Free Seafood Alfredo was full of large scallops and had a good sampling of other seafood advertised on the menu. It is worth noting that you cannot get the garlic bread as gluten free, it is instead gluten free toast. Crab Mac and Cheese was exactly as described on the menu. Delicious noodles with gouda cheese, crab meat, and bacon.
