I was really excited to find a hot yoga studio in the area. This studio is fine. It just does not meet expectations for the hot yoga I hoped it was as the name implies. They offer great intro pricing to try it out. The studio appears nice and clean. There is one small to medium-sized studio room for practice. I would not consider these classes hot yoga, more like lightly heated or pre-heated yoga. I've been to hot yoga classes in several states over several years. If there is heat at Real Hot Yoga, it is easily lost with the industrial ceiling in the studio, which looks nice, but I'd rather feel the heat. Other hot yoga studios have installed the tiled ceilings where they lease to hold in the heat. I now understand what a difference that makes, but realize that may not be achievable for all hot yoga studios. That said, I'll take any heat over no heat for yoga. On the flip side, I don't have to wash my hair after class. It feels like going to a regular yoga studio, which can still be a good practice. If you are new to yoga and not sure about the heat, this would be a great place for you to try out. If you are looking for hot yoga, maybe layer up here with the option to layer down.
If you are familiar with CorePower and similarly looking for something in the area, I would say the power yoga class is comparable to the C1 class for reference.
While I appreciate the cleanliness and presentation of the studio, the lighting may not be the best for my practice. The large overhead pendants do look nice; however, the bulbs are too strong for me to enjoy my practice. There is no diffused coverings or soft opaque bulbs. If you have migraines or light sensitivity, you may want to consider this. It's the first time I've asked for lights off overhead at a yoga studio (there are covered sconces on the wall and daylight through the window.) One teacher at least has been willing to wonderfully accommodate my request. I have not had luck with the others. I'll have to watch who's teaching on the schedule.
Other callouts: I am glad to see barre offered at a yoga studio for variety. Class signup is easy with their app, which I do like managing payment and class through. There are cubbies, not lockers, available to stash your belongings. At the end of class, the class claps. It's less of the go quietly and feel free to linger in Shavasana...

updated review: Unfortunately, not long after writing this I suffered a terrible injury in this studio as a result of a teacher adjustment gone wrong. Initially, I had intended to keep quiet about it as even though it was clearly the teachers fault, it was also clearly an accident.
I spoke to the owner right away about what happened and the nature of my shoulder injury. My entire arm is injured- my shoulder, bicep and elbow. She admitted that she watched the video and that she would not have chosen to make the same choice that the teacher made. I explained that I valued this business and didnât want to hurt it but wanted to make sure everyone learned from the incident. She stated that when I was ready to return they would be supportive of my transition back into practice. She went on to offer advice on how to regain use of my arm which I found bizarre given that physical therapy is not in the scope of practice at a Yoga studio. But, I figured she meant to be helpful and was reassured that I would have help navigating this life-altering injury.
So, after weeks of pain (Iâve been told now that the pain will likely be life long), having to take off work, paying out of pocket for physical therapy and consults, I reached out to the owner that I wanted to try a Yin class to see if I could ease back in and practice without making my pain worse.
It was like we had never even talked before! She insisted that I had to buy a class pack or a month to get back into the studio. Iâm not one to demand free stuff but she couldnât even offer me the opportunity to just buy one class? I walked away from the conversation feeling totally tossed- like a used napkin.
The real hot system is great but this studio doesnât see its students as human beings; clearly just as dollar signs....
Read moreThis place does not care about its customers or yogis. The owner is clearly just in it for the money. I had purchased the 30 day unlimited pass for $45 which was clearly advertised online. Yet, when I attempted to book a class, the app declined it and stated that my pass had been expired. Well this was odd because I bought the pass only 1 Week ago! I called and spoke to an employee and informed me that the pass I had bought was actually the 7 day visitors pass that is also $45. I was very upset and asked her to speak to the owner since this was a mistake on their part and not mine. She called back and then proceeded to tell me that the introductory pass was actually not available in the app only the7 day visitors pass was. Well, how misleading and deceptive does the owner have to be to purposely exclude a pass on the app that ALOT OF PEOPLE would try to purchase.
Anyways, when I demanded that I still be able to use my pass, they told me I could not because I had already gone to one class prior to purchasing the pass. What a joke! So in the end they did not bother to fix the problem at all or give me my money back. How disgusting and money hungry this place is. But it is alright because what goes around comes...
