Layne's Chicken Fingers- Nacogdoches — Restaurant in Nacogdoches

It's OK. Really nothing special. We got the 3 finger meal consisting of 3 decent chicken tenders, good fries (crinkle - I do like a crinkle fry), toasted Texas toast, with a watery add-water-stir type white gravy (or your choice of sauces). You can get this same meal anywhere in East Texas, most of the time with larger portions and better gravy. The Layne's sauce is not bad. A lot like Cain's, more black pepper, maybe. To me it tastes like thousand island with a splash of Worcester sauce and gobs of black pepper. Order was slightly wrong. A minor sauce mix-up. Overall service was choppy, but it was only the second day and there was a lot of effort so they get an extra star. It was ok, but, nothing stands out about any of it. They're a few other menu items seemingly all made from the chicken tenders (except the grilled cheese (I assume)) so I may amend this review if something there is...

Layne’s was very welcoming. The staff were happy and made our first experience here very nice. The food was great. The chicken was tender and there are several different sauces to try! Loved the honey mustard and the jalapeno ranch was yummy as well. An employee had recommended those two sauces and she was on the money for that! Overall I would say our first time being there was welcoming. My tenders were spicy though but not a bad spice to it. Maybe next time I’ll do spicy and non spicy to ease my palette. Only thing I had an issue with was having to wait for the restroom but it’s not a big issue. But yes we will be going back for another round of tenders. I think next time I’m going to try...

My order was taken by a very polite, professional young man named Brandon. My meal was fantastic: hot, delicious, fresh, with scrumptious cream gravy. As I was eating, Brandon came by my table as he was cleaning the restaurant and asked if I were enjoying the meal and could he get anything for me. After I ate, Brandon offered to take my trash for me. Brandon did a fantastic job.
