Updated new review: March 2023 I had heard that in previous years the Nampa location had gone through a management change and that things would be better now. Being that my family and I love the food at Costa vida I decided to give the Nampa location another try, since itâs close to home and Iâd be in the area. I ordered through the mobile app and drove from caldwell to pickup. Service in the store was great, and my order was ready when I arrived. Unfortunately, upon arriving home I noticed that the order was incorrect and due to dietary restrictions would be unable to eat it. I promptly called the store to provide feedback, Issa indicated that they could give me an in store credit or a refund. I requested the refund because I likely wouldnât return to that location. They graciously apologized and indicated that they could provide a partial refund however indicated that their system was having issues and would have to wait until they closed to issue the refund. No problem. I followed up the next day to touch base. Issa indicated the refund may take a couple of days to show up but indicated they would provide a now full refund of the order to keep our business. I thanked them for that. Unfortunately now over a week has gone by and I still have not received a refund from Costa Vida Nampa, which I feel likely wonât happen. Great intentions, unfortunately poor execution
2022 Placed our order through the mobile app to be picked up in store. Waited at least 10 minutes at the pickup counter before being greeted. First employee made an attempt to find my order but indicated that they couldnât find it and didnât know what to do. I showed them the name, order information and order number none of which they said would help. They proceeded to help other to-go customers, then other tasks on the other side of the store. I had to get their attention again just to try to get my food. The same employee told me that there was nothing they could do, because they couldnât find it. I indicated that I had I had already been charged for the order and showed them all of the details of the order, again. They again disappeared to find a âmanagerâ. Upon returning they said that they assumed it was probably picked up by door dash and alleged that I had probably selected the delivery option. I told them that I had ordered through the costa app, and showed them that I had selected in store pickup. Upon doing so I was lectured about door dash (lol). The entire time, it seemed they were content with me leaving without my food. It wasnât until I asked them, âSo, when do I get my food?â That they opted to finally make it for me.
This is unfortunately, at least the 3rd time that we have experienced something like this at this specific location, with little to no help nor apology from the staff. We were simply asking for someone to take ownership and make it right. Itâs definitely worth the drive to go to the other locations. Donât waste your time...

I just wanted to share something that happened today for some positive feedback. I ordered meals for myself and two others. They werenât complicated by any means but I do understand when one person orders for multiple people it can get confusing. The guy who was ordering behind me was clearly irritated he didnât go before me. The woman making the food accidentally made his order as one of mine. I think the frustrating part was he watched her do it and he knew she was doing it and he waited until she was done to be snarky about it. Like he even said âyou didnât even ask me if it was mine or not you were just going so fast and didnât pay attentionâ. Like he was waiting for her to mess up. She IMMEDIATELY apologized, didnât make excuses, asked him how he wanted his, offered to make it again, make it right, and he said it was fine as is. He THEN continued to complain about how it wasnât fine. She gave it to him for free (she really shouldnât have. I wanted to slap him. She 1000% did the right thing and had the BEST guest service.) but my point is 1. Please give some positive recognition to the woman working today. She might have been the manager? Grey polo, a little shorter. 2. If youâre a guest reading these reviews DONâT BE THAT GUY. If something is âfineâ let it be fine. If itâs not fine just tell them so that they can fix it. Donât be passive aggressive and make everyone else around you uncomfortable. I promise you, the restaurant would much rather make it right, have you happy and return than make it wrong. No one makes things wrong on purpose. No one goes out of their way to make their day harder by you making them feel small. Grow up, and communicate like an adult.

   Read moreWent for lunch. As we left the register with our food, I noticed a peculiar odor. If was fairly strong, and I thought it may have been someone next to me that hadn't showered. As we found a table and sat down, I still could smell the odor. Different people around me, so probably wasn't a person. We moved to another table , only to be followed by the odor. The odor resembled dry urine. A very ammonia type of smell. Come to find out that the smell was on the tray that our food was sitting on!. I got a manager to come over to me and discuss the issue. He was very apologetic, and offered to remake our food. This, to me was the correct gesture, so applaud them for that. But we were offered the reason for the odor is that when the evening cleaning crew is finishing for the day, the trays are washed, and then left stacked while they are damp, which supposedly causes the odor. When our new food was brought to our table, the apologies continued, along with some gift cards. Again, I fully appreciate the efforts on that front. But I am still concerned about what is causing the odor, and if they are aware of it, why not change procedures so it doesn't happen.
