Let me start by saying this place has genuinely been friendly, pretty good customer service and has amazing doughnuts and cookies. That being said, this review is about a cake I pre-ordered for a birthday party that I was honestly pretty disappointed about when I saw it.
I emailed them regarding a star-wars clone trooper cake and gave them the reference photo, didn't have to be exact, but close would've been great (I just wanted the bottom portion). I gave them some figurines and asked if they could position them on the cake in a way that looked cool. We went a bit back and forth in length trying to get a design and type of frostings that would work and I was told they could do it within certain perimeters. Sounds good right? Not really.
Im no artist or anything, and I would never try to tell someone their work is awful⌠but this was not at all what I was expecting when I paid $100+ for this cake. The figurines were jammed into the cake in an extremely noticeable way, and you could tell where on the frosting they tried to position and reposition the figurines because they wouldnât stand up. There was no support for the figurines to any capacity so the darth vader fell off as soon as I started driving home (not a bumpy drive or crazy driver here either). They were being held on by half a cm of frosting/fondant. When I got home and was able to open the boxed up fully, I was upset. The front of this cake looked like it was thrown together last minute. No thought or concern as to the integrity for the figurines. Vaders foot had been mashed into frosting multiple times as you can tell by the red bits on the white. (This was on here before he fell off in the car so it wasnât me from me putting him back on). The mask portion where the trooper is supposed to see out of was nothing like the photos I gave them. The writing also seems oddly slightly off center compared to the front of the cake. Why was there no better way to put the figures on? I gave them free rein on how they could position them so that it worked for them. Why have one of them stand if theres nothing supporting him? Why were there no âhidingâ of the spots they repositioned them on the cake? They couldnt have put something kinda covering some parts of the feet so that it wasnt obvious where they kept repositioning them?
I donât like writing negative things about others work. I genuinely believe there were a few parts of this cake that looked nice. I like the font that they wrote on the top, and I liked the logo they put on the back (idk if i have a picture of that, but it looked good for doing it by hand). I just wish they looked at the reference photo while doing it. Cake tasted fine, a little dense and oily tasting but not too bad. Not worth +100$ in my opinion. This place does not specialize in cake design, I would stick to their little...
Read moreI was hoping this time around going to purchase some desserts would be a great experience. However the service seems to be consistent every time my partner and I go here. Which is not a good thing in our experience. Multiple friends of ours has experienced the same which confirms the service is given when you meet certain criteria.
Today I went in to purchase some last minute pastries for a party to have a variety of item. I was welcomed in by a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. Her tone of voice when going in gave off a unwelcoming note. I proceed to ask several question about how far in advance is needed when making cookies and if there was any additional quantity discount. This girl was short with her answers and seemed like she didnât want to help me. She was quickly trying to answer the question without providing additional assistances. I could understand the urgency if there were multiple customers in the establishment however it was only me. I asked to get 4 cookies and she continued to have an attitude. Then I asked for her name which she said was âKeelyâ and rolled her eyes.
Finenâs this is a reoccurring issue with your customer service. I can say there has only been one time the experience was good and that when a gentleman was there. Itâs important to provide adequate quality training to your employees to prevent bias behavior towards customers. In addition to that diversity training seems appropriate for this location considering the demographic population is diverse. I hope that this is a learning experience for your company to learn to grow otherwise customer will choose to provide the business elsewhere.
Customers please be aware how you are treated here before purchasing anything. I hope that this helps future customers to decide whether to do business here.
Part 2
Part two follow-up after 6 months. My partner went here on 3/29/2025 8am-9am and still was provided horrible service. There was a elderly women and young lady helping him out. The younger lady wasnât friendly at all and wasnât helpful. The elder lady was quick to go to the register to ring him up even though he wasnât even completely done selecting his items. They made him feel rushed as if they didnât want him there. I hate to say this but this company seems to be prejudiced towards customers of color. This is repulsive behavior and no one should feel that way especially when customers are giving you business.
People please reconsider doing business with this company. Provide honest feedback about this establishment to prevent other customer experience the same...
Read moreMe and my now husband found this bakery when doing a google search for bakeries near us to do our wedding cake. We loved that the bakery was close and could accommodate our needs for our wedding (11.02.2024). The staff was so friendly, communicative, and helpful. When we went in for our cake tasting we loved the cute, quirky atmosphere of the little walk in shop. The staff explained the cake tasting to us making it so easy for us to dive in when we got back home. We were blown away by the taste and in love with the options they had available. We ended up ordering a 3 tiered cake with a 12" bottom layer, a 9" middle layer, and a 6" top layer. Our instructions were sent with inspo pics and even though we expected a great cake nothing prepared us for how unbelievably breathtaking it truly was. They followed ALL our directions and the result was the talk of the night. The top and bottom layer were chocolate and raspberry, and the best layer, the middle layer, was chocolate and this amazing peanut butter mousse. The entire cake was chocolate cake covered in a black fondant with gold decorative frosting on the surface. They even did the gold roman numerals of our wedding date on the middle layer just as we asked. We were so blown away with the finished product and not just the look but the taste as well. We received many compliments on the yummy cake and every single guest visited the cake table to observe its beauty. It truly was like a decorative piece in itself. We can't say enough good things about this bakery and we know for certain we will be visiting them for many years to come. I HIGHLY recommend them for newly engaged couples and anyone else with a...
