Paris Baguette — Restaurant in Naperville

I'm reluctant to give this local branch 1 star because their cakes are actually delicious. However since they don't make their cakes onsite and provide their service onsite - this is why I am giving them 1 star:

On 8/8 we ordered a cake via phone. The employee processed card payment via phone and we were told the cake would be ready for pick up 8/10 late morning. No order confirmation number was provided. On 8/10 11:15am I arrived at the counter and spoke with two employees - a female with glasses and a male. They could not find any record of our order and we're ready to take a new one but that would have. Delayed our cake and we would have been charged extra.

We were able to get a screenshot of the charge off of our credit card statement to prove the order was processed by them. I thought it was unprofessional that they lost our order and doubled down on the phone order process. I was told a manager would call us back 3-5 business days. It's been two weeks with no call.

8/25/2023 update: I've emailed the Paris baguette email the owner responded with below. I will update within a week if I hear back or not.

Pastries are always good, but at this particular location they cannot make coffee even if their lives depended on it. Got an Iced Butter Pecan Latte and all you could taste was the sweetness, incredibly overbearing. Also got the Butter Pecan Cold Brew, but the “cold foam” was the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. I saw the guy pour it on top and it just mixed into the drink immediately. Can’t tell if either their equipment is faulty or if they just aren’t good at making drinks, but either way they just seemed like they don’t care. And when I went back up because my lid was cracked and I told the lady up front, she just looked at me and said “oh” like she didn’t know what a lid was and just stood there and didn’t really do anything until the other guy gave me a new one. Couldn’t tell if she was brand new/shy or high out of her mind, but she really couldn’t comprehend what a lid was? Regardless, I’m only getting pastries at this location from now on

Edit: To clarify, they do have better employees that are more attentive, that have much better customer service, but some of them clearly don’t meet the...

Try this one today there whole cake Strawberry soft cream cake. I just wonder there making to much cake , and i was asking that the lady pastries made 2 big cakes earlier and i ask the one that are freshly made coated with frosted who was done and not yet displayed in the glass case cooler. I ask the casher and said ohh, that was done and it will be brought it up later for display.is it o.k i can get that..? He might not in the same page oh well.. will anyway, i will get the Strawberry Soft Cream Cake then i pay less. $35.99 plus try also the 16 oz. Ice Pumpkin Spice Latte $5.49 total $44.70 after tax. The Store just newly Opened the casher still calculating some other order online. While the Manager whos was busy talking on the other line and fixing on both cash register there where no customer only me. Waiting for my cold drink like 5 minutes the cashier did not make right away my drinks. Service is Slow sorry for not good review .they are so busy miss up some other...
