Quality and service are not consistent.
I went here twice the first time I ordered their Shahirizada salad and wedding pilav and fell in love. The service was top notch (the co-owner seated us and offered us this special juice on the house to try out and also offered us bread on the house), and the rice and salad were really good. I had to bring my mom to check this out.
The second visit, I was really disappointed. The young girl who took our order didn't really know anything about the menu (we asked a few questions regarding the dishes and she had to ask someone for help) and she never got us the salad we ordered and we never offered any bread (don't know if that's on the house or we had to order it). What I ordered and my comments:
Appetizers- *Shahirizada salad - try this!
Main - Lamb Shish Kebab - we were never asked how we like our meat, BUT make sure you specify your preference because there was red liquid oozing out of our Shish kebab, and it killed our appetite. It's barely seasoned.
Wedding Pilav - I'm not sure why the second time this was so greasy that I could squeeze the oil out of it. It made us feel really sick because it was way too greasy.
Fried Meat Manti - stick with the steamed one. It's too oily.
Steamed Pumpkin Manti - not a huge fan unless you are okay with chunks of pumpkin inside the dumpling.
I have been to plenty of Uzbek places in the city and around the country, so I love Uzbek food and know their dishes somewhat. As a new restaurant, I know this business has a lot going on, but consistency in service and quality is key if you want customers to return. I don't expect to be offered things on the house every time but I think it's reasonable to expect our order to be taken accurately, our server to be knowledgeable about the menu, to be asked how we like our meat if the traditional kebab is cooked really rare (that's not how everyone likes their meat) and to be felt wanted/cared for at a restaurant. Train your staff please, their service is your brand and your training program can make...
Read moreA Delightful Eid Celebration at Shahirizada
We had the pleasure of hosting our Eid gathering for about 50 people at Shahirizada, a wonderful Uzbeki restaurant located in Naperville. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The owner, Sherzod, went above and beyond to ensure every detail of the arrangements was flawless. His warm hospitality and dedication truly set the tone for a memorable evening.
The menu selections were a culinary journey through the rich flavors of Uzbekistan. Our guests were raving about the expertly prepared Plov, which was a hearty and aromatic delight. The Lagman was a crowd-pleaser, with its perfectly cooked noodles and savory broth. The Manti, delicate dumplings filled with flavorful meat, were a testament to the restaurant's authentic cuisine. And let’s not forget the Samsa, whose crispy golden layers and savory filling left everyone wanting more.
The restaurant's staff was equally remarkable. We had three dedicated servers who attended to us in the private party room throughout the evening. Their attentiveness and professionalism ensured that every guest felt special and well cared for. The servers navigated the event seamlessly, making sure dishes were served promptly, drinks were refilled, and plates were cleared with efficiency and grace.
Shahirizada provided an atmosphere that was both elegant and welcoming, allowing us to celebrate Eid with our loved ones in style. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to bring everyone together for this special occasion. From the delicious food to the outstanding service, everything was perfect.
Thank you, Sherzod, and the team at Shahirizada, for making our Eid gathering truly unforgettable. We’ll definitely be returning for more celebrations and...
