Our food was delicious, however it was our waitress, Amy, and the GM, who left a bad taste in our mouths. My mother, grandmother, and I thought we'd take advantage of a Summer Sizzle lunch menu. Before arriving, we browsed the offerings on the Sizzle dining website, and finally decided on M Waterfront's "3-Course Lunch for $29/pp", along with the food options. Once we finished our entrees and each requested a root beer float which was one of the options for the 3rd course of the "3-course lunch", we were told that we were supposed to choose 2 of the 3 courses and that was the deal for $29. I showed the picture from the online Sizzle menu to Amy and she pointed out that in fine print, it disclosed this the select 2 of the 3. Okay... we didn't realize that we had to read fine print on something that clearly stated it was a "3 (yes, 3!) course meal. So then the GM comes over, I show him the menu from Sizzle and he argues that that isn't their menu, that is what is on the Sizzle site. Really? Are the menus that Sizzle published on the website where the entire event is being offered, not proofread by the restaurant. Not one other restaurant of the many had their menu listed in the way that M Waterfront's did. it's either a 2-course menu or a 3-course menu, not "3-course menu, but you pick 2 out of the 3". How can you call that a 3-course menu? Anyway, he offered to give us discount. We tried to tell him not necessary, that we just would like the root beer floats but he had hurried over to desk, so we explained to Amy, no need for discount, would just like our root beer floats. To my mother, she said "no problem, I can bring you a root beer float", and I said "3 please, she looked at me, said yes, and nodded", then 10 minutes later comes back with one root beer float that we were expected to share. When I brought up that when I said 3, she claimed she didn't hear me. Not to mention that this wasn't the first time Amy argued in our dining experience. When I had ordered my hamburger, she asked if I would like lettuce and tomato, in which I replied "yes, please." Hamburger comes... no lettuce and tomato. Not a big deal, but Amy was then no where to be found for almost 10 minutes while I stared at my burger. When I saw her, I just asked if I could please have lettuce and tomato. She comes over and tells me that when she asked me, I said no. I absolutely said "yes, please" and why even say that? Just bring over lettuce and tomato and all would have been great. Then my mother asks for Tabasco sauce and Amy asks her "what are you going to put Tabasco on?" It was just unbelievable. I want to thank that GM for really trying to make things right but Amy was rude and snarky, and really ruined the whole experience. It was really...
Read moreIâve planned a surpriseâs 60th birthday dinner for my wife and made reservations a month in advance. Chef was notified as well as the restaurant and was told no problem we can accommodate. Reservation was not found so another one was made. The first one at 6pm, the second at 5pm. Then, both reservations were confirmed, called the restaurant and they switched the 6pm to 5 pm and moved the notes over. A special surprise was to happen at the restaurant for my wifeâs 60th birthday, well, nothing happened! Not a welcome atmosphere, no smiles, just order, eat, pay and leave. One couldnât enjoy the time nor enjoy time after your last bite. The minute you swallowed the last bite, the bill was presented. The promise of accommodating dietary request was limited. Each item was another extra charge. You pay $68 for a steak, the sauce was $5 extra, and when we asked to take home the leftover especially 3/4 was left to be taken home, items we paid for on the plate, was not in the take home container. The sauce we had to pay extra for, 3/4 left for take home, 1/2 of the expensive NY strip steak and tomatoes were to be packed. I especially asked to include the sauce. Well, got home, was not in the container. The sauce and the tomatoâs not in the container, especially when I asked to make sure to include it . So a bare piece of meat was in the container without the items. How can one pay for almost $100 for a steak and ask to have a container to take it home and come to find out the food was not in the container as was on my plate. Maybe someone else's food? Who knows. Not a friendly atmosphere and not welcoming. Surprise for my wife never happened, not even Happy Birthday!, nothing! But the table next to us, got a happy birthday! Had to apologize to my wife for no mention of a birthday and for the service on her 60th birthday. It was a blah atmosphere. Very disappointed as all was arrange a month prior and reconfirmed and didnât expect this at all, and paying these prices and not receiving what was paid for was another surprise.
Recommendation to this venue? NO! Living here year round, I can suggest that 5th Avenue restaurants and service is much better and better value for the price. I must say, the chef did awesome, the food was good, but the service needs improvement as well as the atmosphere of those that work there. Greeters need training, better attire as well! If you are looking for great food and location, 5th Avenue is the place to go! Celebrating oneâs 60th birthday is only once in a lifetime! This was supposed to be a happy occasion, especially when one survived a near death experience and this 60th birthday was to have been unforgettable and...
Read moreTable of 4/two couples âour Initial impressions were very positive, great location and welcoming interior. Pleasant and attentive waiter and good cocktails. The menu had many great sounding items and entrees. I ordered the calm chowder âand this may sound trivial but it had so many crackers in it that I never tasted the chowder. A silly amount of soup crackers in my cup of soup! I only ate half of the it -just a bowl of soggy bread with ZERO favor. Others had the beet salad that they enjoyed. Two of us ordered the surf and turf. The 8 oz NY strip was simply terrible- lousy looking and tasting. Poor quality. The lobster tail was good. Others at the table said their dinner of scallops and short ribs were Ok. At the end the manager took the the price of the surf and turf off the bill, but the dinner was ruined. It was a poor execution of a service recovery. It wasnât about money. Manager didnât seem too engaged or concerned , and I get it , but if thatâs your main job ??? Maybe you are in the wrong line of work. Or have a sign âitâs Monday. We are tried from the weekend and donât give a hoot if you have a good meal at our fairly expensive restaurant-and our chef has the night offâ Four friends went out for lovely dinner in beautiful Naples , and we walked away feeling like âthat was a terrible experience â . Definitely will not recommend or go back. Wish there was a hidden camera so the owners could have...
