My friend is a professional chef from NJ. She and her husband owned/recently sold their Italian restaurant and came to visit us in Naples. I was afraid they would be disappointed with the restaurants here because their epicurean bar is set so high. After careful consideration we went to one of our old favorites, T-Michaelâs Steak and Lobster House. The panoramic floor to ceiling window views are spectacular. We often enjoy dolphins feasting on their own dinner in the bay while enjoying ours, esp at sunset. The owner, Ty, always remembers our names and treats everyone like a valued guest. His staff is professional and attentive. We enjoyed their signature appetizer, Shrimp Sambal while perusing the menu. These are no ordinary shrimp and not to be missed. Jumbo, juicy, fresh and the creative marriage of flavors is bellisimo! My friend ordered 10 oz twin lobster tails and her husband ordered the Beef Wellington. They could not shed enough praise on their melt-in-your-mouth entrees plus three delicious sides that we shared: sautĂ©ed mushrooms, creamed spinach and Boursin mashed potatoes, all so very delicious! Although I am not as big of an eater, my 10 oz lobster tail was beautifully prepared and a pleasure to eat. I had a forkful of my husbandâs blackened salmon teriyakiâŠawesomely good. I am a Cabernet lover, which is the most important part of the meal for me. The thoughtful wine selection has all my favorites, which is not true of any other restaurant I have come across in Naples. My friend is not a Cabernet drinker and asked Ty to recommend a drink. After deciding on a margarita, Ty took the time to bring her the âMillionaireâs Margarita.â Kevin, the experienced bartender did not disappoint. That margarita looked magical as if it was liquid gold with pixie dust swirling in her glass. I never had a margarita I likedâŠ.until that night! And the espresso martinis, yum! I could not have chosen more wisely. T-Michaelâs is the bomb! One last thing: ya canât have dinner with a chef and not indulge in dessert, right? We really went overboard ordering the crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e, carrot cake and apple pie Ala mode. OMG, worth every calorie. Donât skip dessert! Life is too short! I am only disappointed I was so busy enjoying everything we donât have more pics of the food to share. Maddie was our server and did a phenomenal job. We were one of the last tables to leave and were so well taken care of the entire time...
Read moreMy personal experience for this restaurant was sub par. Three weeks prior to dinner I booked the reservation out. In the special request section i had asked if at all possible i could sit by their windows for a more beautiful scenery/dining experience. It was also a special occasion for my girlfriend and I. The day of, we went to Micheal's and went in. The hostess was somewhat rude but i excused it. upon seating us she said "i know you guys wanted to sit by the windows but we dont have any seating available there. I asked her if we could wait till seating was available for the window area and she said no because there were other reservations it could conflict with. I thought to myself "why did i even bother with a reservation 3 weeks out". We ended up seated at a regular table more inward. literally seconds after we sat they cleaned up a window table and sat someone else there. The waiter took a while to arrive to our table and they were not full. about half the restaurant was empty. when the waiter did arrive he asked us if we were ready to order an appetizer or food. My girlfriend and i asked him for a drink/wine menu. he apologized and realized that we hadn't even ordered beverages. We ordered a bottle of wine, he brought out the wrong bottle. it was corrected and brought the correct one out. my girlfriend ordered a shrimp, scallop, and lobster meal. they forgot the scallops. we brought it up and they brought them out. they also forgot to give us silverware so we sat for 5 minutes stagnant before i got hold of a waiter. after our food was brought out they decided to bring out the bread and oil. at that point i about had it. last but not least already half way through dinner the waiter asked if we wanted to move to a window table. "im not gonna pick up half my food and move across the room". in the end i spend about $180.00 dollars for terrible service. personally i will never go back. I am sure any other time it will be just fine for myself or anyone else. I am just really big on first impressions. Its a very nice Restaurant not their fault but individuals and how they handle the...
Read moreMy husband and I reserved a standard indoor table at 7:45. We arrived just a few minutes before our reservation and checked in with the hostess. We were offered an outdoor table right away, or we were offered to wait for an indoor table. Outdoor tables are positioned in front of the building in the parking lot. The valet pulls up just in front of the tables and there is no coverage. Shortly after we were sat at our table, the manager discontinued outdoor seating due to a storm heading in, which also means, we may have ended up in a storm considering how slow the kitchen was running that evening.
While we appreciate the option for an outdoor table, we specifically booked an indoor table. We waited approximately 15 minutes and were seated. The inside was very busy. The hostesses appeared extremely stressed, one appearing on the verge of tears. The manager was clearly stressed, however, he handled things well. He appeared decisive and communicative with the staff. The staff was clearly working well as a team. Our food was tasty, although my husband's medium steak came out rare. The kitchen had no issue cooking it more and it was addressed quickly. The manager provided a free dessert per our waiter for the extended wait on the food. The whole experience was about 2 hours long. I don't know if they were short staffed that night, were overwhelmed by parties, or what. There was no spacing between tables indoors.
The biggest issue that bothered me was one particular waitress. She would stand at the computer to enter orders, pull her mask down, pick at her teeth, rub her nose, and then not wash her hands. I was so thankful that she was...
