I’ve had dinner here a few times. The first few times the menu was really interesting and the food was fantastic. Service has always been a bit awkward. It always seems overstaffed but slow service despite many employees just hanging around. My most recent visit (last night) was very disappointing and awkward. Since the restaurant first opened there is obviously a new chef/new management and the menu is far less interesting. My friend and I ordered the street corn ($8) and were expecting traditional street corn, i.e., grilled corn with an aioli, cotija and seasoning. When it came out it was one ear of corn cut in half with NOTHING on it. There was a sprinkle of seasoning on the plate but nothing on the corn itself. When we asked if something was missing, the (maybe) manager told us “that’s just how it is,” and wasn’t friendly at all. Eventually they did take it off our bill, but listing plain grilled corn as street corn is misleading and the reaction to our bafflement was not an example of good service. For my entree I asked to have a starter increased to entree sized meal, I was told I could order 2 and they’d put it on one plate, which seemed odd considering that there was no way what I got was actually double. Finally, there was a hair in my food. I didn’t mind that much and still ate my dinner, I don’t like wasting food! But I did tell them about it and, again, the response was a bit weird and they didn’t do anything about it. Considering how our meal went, I think a manager should have stopped by and apologized and offered a free dessert or something along those lines. All that said: it is a beautiful spot and our waitress was very friendly (it did seem like she had too many tables to manage while other staff seemed to have nothing to do). My dinner was decent and my friend had a burger that she loved. It definitely seems like a few kinks need to be worked out before this place is worth the price tag. Not sure I will be returning.

We went here after bailing on a more well known nearby place. The hostess at Sea Craft, Lily, was the hardest working I have seen in a while, juggling a lot of people coming in and yet still asking them what kind of table they wanted and working to accommodate that. The lawn is beautiful, with comfortable Adirondack chairs to have a drink while waiting for your table, and a porch with fantastic water views. The food was also very good. The kitchen made a minor mistake (leaving off the shrimp we added to a salad) and they corrected it without issues. Despite it being incredibly busy during a packed summer weekend, all the staff were consistently friendly and attentive. I was initially hesitant because a few reviewers complained about service, but I saw none of that in our experience. I’d definitely recommend you choose Sea Craft over the nearby more long-standing water view restaurant!

We ordered the Local Calamari, Prime Burger, Prime Beef Sandwich, and Cookie Sundae. The calamari was really good, especially with the pepperoncinis and aioli. The burger is a truly good burger. The tomato jam brings it together, but it's for comfort, not something new. The prime rib sandwich is more unique, but ultimately I didn't enjoy it. The cookie sundae is fantastic! My only critique is it's a lot of sprinkles, but a great way to finish the meal, and very shareable for two people. The service was pleasant. We enjoyed our servers personality, and she gave helpful recommendations, but she got caught up in conversations with coworkers a few times and I'd wait longingly for a refill. The atmosphere is incredible. Tough to beat beach front dining in the fall. Had we not been staying at The Shore House, I'd probably dine somewhere else, but I was very happy with the meal overall.

Enjoyed this restaurant in the recent past (as Turtle Soup), but this visit was sorely lacking. We were seated fairly promptly at an outdoor table (within 15 minutes of our reservation time); but didn't see our waitress for at least 10 minutes. She took our drink order and disappeared for another 20 minutes (no check in or explanation). We waved her over to put in an app order and she then said, "sorry, the bar is pretty backed up". Seemed she was either having a bad night or we were a nuisance to her. We decided to put in our entire order, in case the kitchen was also backed up. I ordered the Cod Loin dinner and was told they just ran out. She offered the fish sandwich (also cod) as an alternate with the caveat that she'd check to see if that was still available. She asked if I had a back-up in the event it wasn't and I chose clams casino and a cup of chowder. After another 10 minutes or so, our drinks arrived. Our food started coming (piece by piece from several food runners) about 20 minutes after that. I was brought my fish sandwich, the clams casino AND the chowder. I asked the server to please send our waitress over. She arrived at the table and said, "There's a problem?" (more attitude). When I explained, she said, "Oh...I thought those were your apps." I said, "No, but we are still waiting on the calamari" and she said it should be out soon. (Meanwhile, a neighboring diner ordered and was enjoying the Cod Loin dinner - LOL) She checked in once during dinner; and we didn't see her again until we flagged her down for boxes and the check. At this point she offered a second round of drinks / dessert. All of the sudden we started getting bombarded by beetles...to the point where they were in our hair, on our clothes and landing in our left overs. When she came back, she mentioned the unboxed food and we told her why we weren't taking it. She proceeded to remind us that it IS summer in New England (more attitude), and told us the story of her walking her dog that morning and fighting off a dragon fly. It took some time for her to cash us out so we actually left our table and waited by the entrance (because of the bugs). She said, "sorry", thanked us for coming and we left. Ambiance? Lovely, but for the bugs...maybe they can set beetle traps or spray? Price? You're paying for location. Service and food? I won't be back. Go to the Coast Guard...
