We placed scheduled order for delivery a couple of days before our sonâs bday party. Because it was for a party, it was a large order (15+ pizzas). The day before the party we checked the weather (it was an outdoor party) and saw that it was going to rain, so we delayed the party by a couple of hours to after the rain was supposed to pass. We called the Amherst St store the evening before to reschedule the delivery time and the person we spoke to was very friendly and said they took care of it, that the order would be delivered at the new time. Well, you can probably guess that the order was was delivered at the original time. Well before the party began. When we started to receive the notifications that the order was being prepped, was in the oven, etc. we called and let them know that it was supposed to be rescheduled for later. The person we spoke to apologized but said that our order was still setup for delivery at the original time but that theyâd ask the delivery driver to come back to the store and theyâd bring the pizzas again at the correct time. By the time they called the delivery driver it was too late and the pizzas were already dropped off (we werenât at the party location at the time of delivery otherwise we wouldnât have accepted the pizzas). We tried calling the store to let them know about it, and that weâd just reheat the pizzas and not to bring another order later. But when we called they hung up on us before they even answered our call. We never got a call back. They didnât deliver more pizzas at the correct time. Just ignored us and didnât even offer us a coupon or anything. We had no choice but to serve cold pizza to our guests⌠we reheated some of them but we only had one oven and our guests were too hungry to wait.    Read moreMy delivery took 2 hours to get to me. I ordered at 6:18pm and even though the online pizza tracker said about an hour, it arrived well past that, and it was cold.
I called to inquire about the status of my order and was informed that it would be there "sometime soon." When I asked the woman for a more accurate time she stated it would be "any minute now." I informed her that "any minute now" wasn't a time frame and then she said "10-15 minutes, you're about five minutes down the road from us." I asked that since that was the case how it was possible a delivery would take two hours. She said they were short staffed and that last night it was taking deliveries two hours and that was "the deal." I asked if it was possible to contact the driver to see his location and she said no and that she didn't know where he was located. To which I asked how she knew how long it would take to get to me if she didn't even know where the driver was. This was met with a nonplussed response.
I told the associate that she wasn't aligning with my experience nor showing any empathy to the situation. Not even an apology for the delay or asking how to make the situation better. I told her that two hours was unacceptable and she once again did not seem to be bothered in the least by this. Still no apology or aligning with the customer. I asked if I could be compensated for the late delivery time in way of a coupon or money off my order. I was informed that wasn't possible and that the delivery would "be there when it gets there." Order was completed quickly and correctly and the price was great as I utilized one of the MANY Coupon Deals shared in the app. They have a barrier at counter and tables for the pick up orders to be placed so there's no contact. Employees were wearing masks and they require customers to wear masks for entry and have many signs stating the policy. They also have reminders for social distancing all over to remind customers to maintain 6 feet between each other. Despite only 3 workers, they were friendly when I arrived and appeared to be working efficiently as a team to get orders done and help customers. They had signs and papers everywhere about needing more help with employment info and how to apply. I hope they find team members that complement the already great crew soon because I'm sure that the employees could use a bit of a break from the hectic and crazy pace and schedule.
