We are new to the area and Bistro 603 came highly recommended so we dropped in for lunch. My wife ordered the sheet pan nachos which she liked and the reason for two stars. I ordered a Maine Lunch beer and the house smoked thick cut pastrami. The beer was good and I asked for another when my meal came. When the meal came I asked for my second beer, the keg was empty and they would tap another. Ten minutes later I was told they were out..Back to my house smoked thick cut pastrami. Presentation was great , toasted marble bread, lettuce, tomato and coleslaw with four skinny pieces of pastrami. The pastrami was ineatable, it was so hard and dry and was all end pieces. I asked my server if this was normal...she came back after checking with the manager and said yes that was normal but if I wanted I could order something else. I was surprised the manager did not come by but sent the server back with the message. My wife was almost done so I removed the pastrami and ate the rest which was good. At the end of our meal the manager did come over and apologized I showed her the pastrami I couldn't bite through or eat. I asked how this could leave the kitchen, she apologized again and comped my sandwich. As I paid the bill the server said she was sorry and they had complaints about the pastrami and are removing it from the menu. Guess I was a day to early. Bistro 603 came highly recommend so I will give it one more try, let you know...
Read moreWe had a Great experience at 603 Bistro in Nashua. This was our first date night dinner since the pandemic and we felt completely at ease here. This place easily competes (and wins!) when compared to the upscale restaurants on Nashua’s Main St. We sat outside in their nice, quiet courtyard area (no Main St. traffic noise) and were quickly greeted by our fantastic waitress Erin. Cheerful, professional, very personable; she knew the menu inside out, including making 2 craft beer recommendation. The food menu is extensive, and has something for everyone: meat-lovers, fresh creative seafood dishes, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free. Everything is made to order and modified as needed (such as vegan sauces to avoid dairy). We shared a warm vegan buddha bowl salad to start. It could have easily been a meal on its own, even without adding one of the protein options. The delicious sauce really pulls the whole dish together. We had the tuna poke (with vegan aioli), and the pan seared scallops entrees. Both dishes were presented beautifully and tasted great. We don’t usually eat dessert, but couldn’t resist the vegan cake. We didn’t leave a crumb on the plate. Can’t wait to go back and try the breakfast/brunch menu. The Buddah bowl was so good we got it the next night for dinner take out. Highly...
Read moreI've tried to ordered from them twice over the phone. The first time it wasn't clear that I had to specify that I was looking at the vegan menu, because why would I know that the tacos are also on the non-vegan menu if all I care about is the vegan menu? The second time I did say vegan, the hostess repeated vegan, my receipt said vegan, and yet when I got home there was cheese on them again.
I'm tired of going home and still being hungry. They have refunded me both times and most recently apologized saying they take allergies very seriously. So far those are empty words. I'm extremely disappointed.
To their credit they do their best to make it right (and when the food is correct is tastes good) and even offered to deliver a replacement this second time. I had to be somewhere though so I had to find something else to eat. However as somebody who is vegan for ethical reasons, a refund and new food doesn't undo the fact that animal products were used on my order. And since the reason I live this way is to abstain from the supply and demand cycle of animal products, there is no way to fully fix these mistakes because the products used are still used. And that is counter to what my goal is in how I live my life. So if cheese is used every time I order, despite my best efforts, why would I try to...
