As a customer who has been following this company since their first store location in Salem, it’s a bit sad the state that this business is in. Granted, the video game market is extremely volatile but the pricing at both locations is pretty horrible. They are nearly 110-150% more expensive than PriceCharting or eBay. Some games they order in sealed, they are asking for 60 plus dollars for when you can go straight to Amazon or eBay for 40 and below. I understand businesses have to make money but I can’t justify buying anything from these places unless you absolutely need that game for whatever reason. Especially when they take trades in at 25% value for cash and only 40% for store credit. When competing retro stores are 40-60% value. They are quadrupling profits off of one game and if that doesn’t scream rip off then i don’t know what does. People joke about gamestops trade in value but for example if you trade in a 3ds to GameStop, you get around 130-160 depending on the model. Whereas if you were to trade in one here you’d get around 55-70 bucks and they’d sell it for 200-300. Absolutely not acceptable and that is what is adding to the problem of retro gaming. Not to mention the employee with the longer curly hair and piercings is really unpleasant to talk to. They seem either extremely under the influence of something or they really do not care about this place. Last interaction I had they had made multiple mistakes with my transaction and I had to correct them 3+plus times. I always hate being that person but it’s super awkward and frustrating when I have to explain to someone they’re doing something wrong. They also quoted me 10 dollars trade in credit for an item worth around 150 dollars. Which I obviously declined to do. The 2 original workers that opened this store are nothing but pleasant and super cool guys. Just wish the business model was a bit better with this location and...
Read moreI've never had a greater experience at any other gaming store. For being a store that primarily sells used items, the quality is absolutely amazing and I haven't had any issues with anything i've bought. About 2 weeks ago, my cards were misplaced and in the process of being already sold to customers before I was given a call back for the amount I wouldve gotten back for the cards. The owner, Doug, wasted no time and hopped straight onto the case. Everything was resolved within 20 minutes and at the end of the day, I was still a happy seller/customer. They give you a fair value and dont rip you off when you sell items, and theyre very generous with their in-store credit system. W Core...
