Terrible place to eat.
Before they renovated this place, it used to be Texas BBQ that sold Chinese fast food, and to this day they have two restaurant "booths" at Pheasant Lane Mall - Thailand Express and China City. I know this because the same employees have been working there for over 10 years. I used to eat here all of the time, however, their customer service has gotten worse over the past 2 or 3 years.
Not too long ago, the chef came out to help with orders. I asked for a "to go" box, but I was going to "eat-in". The reason is because there are always leftovers that I would like to bring home and to make it simpler, why not ask for a to go box to begin with instead of using multiple foam plates? When I asked for a "to go" box, the chef asked, "Are you going to eat in?" I politely replied, "Yes, but I always have leftovers that I would like to bring home, which is why I would like a to go box". All of a sudden, he exploded in rage. He started yelling and saying, "You HAVE to use an eat-in plate!" I can't just stand there and pretend like no one was yelling, so I raised my voice and said, "It doesn't matter! I'm a PAYING customer and I would like a "to-go" box!" The chef threw the foam plates all over the floor and I walked away, along with a few other customers in line.
As a customer, you should not have to experience disrespect and rudeness from an employee. Sure, they may have had a bad day, but it has happened more than once. The same exact employees that wokred that day, still work there today, and they still have that attitude they did back then.
Therefore, I advise you NOT to go to this "restaurant." The employees are extremely rude and there's even false advertisement! They are NOT Thailand Express as they advertise, they use "Thai food" as a marketing strategy. This is NOT authentic Thai Food! It's all a mask to cover Chinese fast food! If you walk 10 yards further, you would find that the food at China City and Thailand Express are VERY similar. If you want to, there are other authentic Cambodian, Laos, and Thai food restaurants within 15 minutes of Pheasant Lane Mall. In all honesty, Thailand Express' food is pretty good, but because of the lack of respect and courtesy they have created poor customer experiences! As someone who grew up with military discipline, I have learned that respect and selflessness is important! Thus, take your business elsewhere and DO NOT support...
Read moreAbsolutely un-eatable!! I had the mango chicken, which it's just batter and honey.... I hope it was honey. Before you order, they are telling you it's $6.19. Then they are pushing and asking what 3 sides you want. But when you get to the cash register, it's closer to $7 than the anticipated $6. When you tell them you were told it's $6.19, then they point at the menu: $6.19 is for one side.... Very dishonest people.... and the un-eatable food was bunch of rice, 6 of the smallest ever pieces of "mango chicken" and three pieces of broccoli. Oh... I asked for to go and when I got to my destination, there were no napkins and no utensils.... needless to say, I tossed it in the garbage. What a wasted 7 bucks. I do...
Read moreFirst time I had their food was while eating there, maybe early January. It was good. I told myself I'd come back soon. Next time was take out, about 2 weeks ago. Again, good flavors. A few hours later, however, I could not stop going to the bathroom. Even a drink of water would set me off. I was on full purge mode around the clock. I got food poisoning from one of the chicken items and it lasted for 2.5 days. I lost 4 pounds. I won't...
