If I could rate this place less than zero stars I wouldâŚ
This evening around 7 PM my good friend, his service dog and I entered JCPenney with the intention of doing some Christmas shopping. We walked over to the cologne/perfume as he had seen a flyer advertising discounts and he wanted to check them out. I obliged him and even found a few items I was going to purchase myself.when I entered the store I held in my hands my purse, cellphone, and a roll of unraveled doggie bags(the kind that you throw away after your dog does their business) that I had told my friend that I would re-ravel for him while we browsed. I turned around and saw some makeup that was advertised on sale. I began to grab yet more items that I once again intended to purchase. My hands were quite full and at some point I put the bags and my cell phone into my purse and seemingly with perfect timing a sales associate came up to me and offered to take my items up to the register to which I thanked her and she explained to me that you could only purchase the items at the beauty counter. I told her that was fine but I wasnât done looking through the rest of the store yet(itâs a department store and that was literally out first stop). She told me that was fine and I was also fine with this so I walked over to my friend where we tried out a couple of colognes that he liked. When I was done looking at the beauty section I walked over to I want to say it was accessories(Jewelry, etc) and I was approached by a short older woman with short brown hair, glasses, and red shirt on(I wish I had thought to get her name in retrospect but alas I canât go back in time now can I). We said hello to eachother and I as I turned to walk away to browse the rest of the store she says to me â are you going to purchase those items you put in your bag?â Bewildered I opened up my bag for her and showed her what I had in there(there was no merchandise in my purse Only my items and my friends dog poop bags. After seeming to be satisfied she nodded and I went to walk away feeling the bewilderment turn quickly from amusement to a seething anger and i realized that this woman had just not only accused me of stealing but hadnât even apologized for her mistake. I walked out the door and thought better of it. I went back inside and went up to the woman and asked to speak with her manager to which she replied, I am the manager. I told her that I donât know who told her that I was putting items in my bag, but I was offended and that excuse my language, but they â need to get their shit together before accusing random people of stealing from the store because thatâs how you lose customersâ before walking out for good. At no point was any effort to apologize to me made the mistake and honestly I got a whole bunch of deer in headlights looks to which I expected as soon as I heard that the same woman that accosted me was the âmanager on dutyâ. Honestly, I donât understand how you become a manager of these days in a sales position with having complete lack of respect for anybody else much less the customers that literally pay for your salary. Iâm sorry, but Iâve worked plenty of customer service jobs and management as well and we are always taught the customers always right and if any customer came up to me complaining about this to me the first thing i would do is apologize because itâs the right thing to do. But apparently JCPenney is above doing the right thing. Honestly, the worst absolute worst shopping experience Iâve ever had well literally trying to do some Christmas shopping. Seriously negative stuff stars for this place I would not recommend to my worst enemy and trust and believe that Iâm gonna let everybody I know know about this because this is...
Read moreFirst of all they've had my ring since Dec and it's almost may!!! We sent it off to be resized but the woman that sized me left the ring on a keychain so it wasn't an accurate size and I had a feeling about it but did say several times that I couldn't determine whether it fit because of the key chain weighing it down on my finger. Then a month or maybe longer we called and were told it would be back soon. After a few more weeks they finally called and told us that the ring was never even sent out because the size that it was asking for was the size the ring already was!!! So I went to be resized and then they sent it out. Nothing for a few weeks. We call again and they tell us we went to the wrong store location (which we didn't know even made a difference) so when they sent it out the people just sent it back (why? Who knows? Isn't it all the same? Whatever) They told us it should be ready by April 18th. Today is April 18th. I called the store and waited a good 10 minutes for someone to pick up. Finally someone did. I say "Can I speak with the jewelry department." This lady says "I'm in the children's section." I'm like okay? And I repeat myself. "I'm in the kids section." Again, I repeat myself more clearly "I wan to talk on the phone with the jewelry department." She goes "I don't know that extension, wait a minute please." Finally she comes back and says she's gonna transfer me. Nope. She hangs up on me. So I call back. Wait 15 minutes for someone to pick up again. I say "You hung up on me, I want to speak with the jewelry department." She's like "Oh the line must be busy." And I say "No, you hung up on me." So she goes to try again and HANGS UP ON ME AGAIN!!!! I call a third time. This time a guy picks up. And I say I'm looking for the jewelery department. He transfer me, FINALLY. I speak with a woman there and she tells me my ring STILL is not back. And that it's possibly "because of the holidays." IT'S APRIL... Holidays are long over and Valentine's day shouldn't effect it because it should have been sent out before that and taken priority over others because of how long we've been waiting. We're finally told that it should be back by the earliest next week but I'm so upset with this customer service. DO NOT BUY JEWELERY FROM JCPENNEY. Honestly so disappointed been waiting months from my beautiful ring and you've made this entire experience such...
Read moreWent to shop for curtains today with my 2 kids at JCPENNEY HOME STORE IN NAHUA ON 292 DWHIGHWAY, and I have never experienced anything horrible and disgusting like this before. I spent almost $200 at this store. After I paid and about to leave, this guy who works at the store name ALFRED kept mumbling to himself complaining about my kids because my daughter has been screaming and running around the store. I was standing there with kids. He didnt approach me directly. Instead, he just kept looking at me and the kids from distance and kept complaining. The last thing he said was "unbelievable". I talked to the store manager about this. Her name is ERMA. She interrupted me without even letting me finish what I had to say and she said "we have customers with kids running around here and screaming all day and it is really annoying for our employees and very disturbing to other customers. If you cannot control your kids, you should not be shopping here". I asked her if she has any kids and if she understand that it is not easy to control when the kids scream or when they want to run around. She said "I have kids and I have grandkids and if you cannot control your kids that means you are doing something wrong". I am a mom. I have sympathy when I go to the store and see other people struggling trying to keep the kids under control. I understand how frustrating it is, so I dont get annoyed when I see other kids screaming or crying at the store. The parents are doing their best to keep their kids from crying and screaming. Nobody wants that to happen. So I smiled to the parents who struggle with the screaming and crying kids at the store to let them know that it is ok and I understand what they are going through and that I'm not annoyed by that. I am not saying that the kids have the right to run around and scream like that, and I would have been ok if the employee approach me directly instead of complaining about me and my kids from distance like that. What this employee and manager at JCPENNEY talked and reacted to me was disgusting and unacceptable. So, I returned everything I bought and I will never ever shop at this...
