I'm giving this place 4 stars, despite having multiple issues on our very first visit. The measure of a business is how the react to an issue or problem and the feeling that you, as the patron leave with.
We started off here a bit rough. It took about 15 minutes to even get drink service, on what looked to be a dead night. In the whole restaurant there were only two other tables, but it appeared that we came in at a strange time (8pm) as two employees were taking a break and eating a meal in the dining area.
We ordered a couple appetizers, and 3 entrees to share between 2 adults and 2 older kids. It took a bit for things to start coming out, but the papadams were delicious, and their trio of chutneys was close enough to other authentic Indian places, but unique enough that it was novel. We ordered chicken jalfrezi, chicken tikka masala, and tandoori chicken. Everything had a distinct flavour that was a bit different than the norm, and our family jury is still out on whether we liked it or not.
The issue came when our daughter found a long black hair in the chicken tikka masala. It took a bit for the waiter, who appeared to be the only one working, to come back over so we could show him. When we did, he was most apologetic. He took it back and immediately re-made the dish. While he was gone, our other daughter found another black hair in the rice. I'm not sure what was going on this evening, or if the short staffed and quick burst of business just caused carelessness in the kitchen, but Raj the waiter, was mortified. Poor guy. He was very genuine and repetitively apologized for the issues. When he came back the last time, he comped our entire meal and promised that if we came back, it would be a much better experience. We offered to pay for at least the appetizers and two dishes that were eaten, but he was insistent that in the many years he's worked there, this has never happened twice in one meal and that is not indicative of their quality, or their restaurant. In the end, there are worse things to find in your food, and worse reactions from businesses to patrons. Raj was very kind, genuinely apologetic, and went above and beyond to make it right. I'd go back here strictly on his actions the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of Best of india , Nashville , Tenneessee and I am absolutely thrilled with the experience! This restaurant has effortlessly blended Indian and Southern flavors to create a culinary fusion that left me craving more.
From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance was vibrant and inviting. The modern yet cozy decor sets the perfect backdrop for a unique dining experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining companions and I felt welcomed throughout the evening.
Now, let's talk about the food – an absolute highlight! The menu is a delightful journey through a fusion of spices and tastes. We started with the Garlic Naan , a brilliant twist on a classic, and they were a flavor explosion. The chef's creativity truly shines through in every dish.
For the main course, we opted for a variety of options to share, and each dish exceeded expectations. The Chicken Tikka Masala was a delightful surprise, combining the best of Indian and Southern comfort food. The Lamb Vindaloo was perfectly spiced, and the Butter Chicken had the creamiest sauce I've ever tasted. Others items that took my mind are : lamb samusa, chicken samusa , lentil soup , Chicken makhani , Chicken 65, Gout curry , beef curry and lamb curry.
To accompany our meal, we explored the beer selection, and I must say, the craft beer pairings recommended by the staff complemented the dishes superbly. It's evident that the team at Best of india , Nashville , Tenneessee takes great care in curating a well-rounded dining experience.
The portions were generous, ensuring that we left with satisfied appetites and happy hearts. Despite the restaurant's popularity, the service remained prompt and courteous.
Best of india , Nashville , Tenneessee has become a top favorite of mine in Nashville. If you're looking for a dining adventure that seamlessly blends Indian and Southern flavors, this is the place to be. Kudos to the chef and the entire team for creating a dining experience that goes beyond...
Read moreRecently disappointed ... I ordered food for delivery through Uber eats from here December 10. It was a long day at work and I wanted to treat myself to their DELICIOUS food, particularly their garlic naan which I ordered two servings of. When my food arrived I immediately went for the naan only for it to be burnt so bad it was mostly black and absolutely charred to where it didn’t even taste like it usually does. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it but being as how it was completely inedible I called and explained that to them and asked if they would just take the price of the naan off I would be content. They said they would but I wasn’t sure they actually did. So the next morning I went to the restaurant WITH the burned naan so I could show them how bad it was in case they needed the proof to issue me the refund. The woman insisted she didn’t need to see the naan and that they “trusted me” and if I was told I would receive the refund it should show on my account in 5-7 days. Well, it has almost been a month and I never received my refund. Now I can’t even be certain they will serve me food that isn’t overcooked and I’m really disappointed in how the situation was handled. I should’ve taken photos of the naan but I thought that was too unnecessary. I realize the price of the naan is only a little more than $6 but I spent well over $30 that night only to be dissatisfied and not given a refund. This would have never been a big deal if the naan was remotely edible. When I say it was charred to a crisp it was BAD. So basically if you order here I recommend dining in to ensure your food is cooked how it is...
