We were a group of 10(4 adults 6 kids) and wanted Mexican food after a hard day of basketball games. We decided on Las Palmas because we haven't been there since it moved to the new location. At 8pm, we walked in the door and immediately asked what time they closed because it was almost empty. The "host" looked bothered and said 9pm . We questioned that since it was a Saturday night. He looked bothered that we came in and he was having to work. He said something in Spanish to another person and then waved us over to a side area. Our server was ok. We ordered 2 pitchers of margaritas and sodas for the kids. He brought glasses without salt then seemed irritated we asked if he would take them to be salted. It's margaritas right!?! We ordered our food which was brought out fairly fast. Unfortunately we had to continually ask for parts to our order (side of rice, soft taco, tortillas for fajitas etc). We ate, received the checks and we were floored. I guess it's partly our fault we didn't look at prices but 1 kids dinners, 3 adult dinners, 3 sodas and a pitcher of margaritas (not top shelf) was $75 without gratuity!! Seriously my husband and I haven't spent that much at Cantina Laredo!!! The most "fancy" thing we ordered was fajitas for 1. The other adult meals were some sort of taco, rice & bean combo. Needless to say because of the higher prices, low quality of food and the feeling of not being welcomed from several employees we WILL NOT be back!! There are several other better Mexican places within the area that...
Read moreRacist. Lost my application 3 times over a 4 day span. Went in to check on my application today was asked to return 4 times in one day. 1st time manager was "gone to the store". 2nd time manager was on break 3rd he had a family emergency. When I asked for employees name ( to let manager know I came by and who I spoke with) employee snapped. Repeatedly kept saying "your calling me a liar" " you just came here for problems". He refused to give names or info. I left and called back a few minutes later and surprise manager is back( them assuming I would not drive back) I proceeded to ask if I could come back and speak with him , he said yes ( yet another trick). I get there and told once again by Armando that I just came to start trouble then proceeds to ask who I spoke with. When I told him he refused his name but had a burgundy color shirt on who says " i don't know who that is". I said " your server standing here was present and knows who " He then proceeds to say how it's not important to him he does not have to ask and refused to give me GM name saying " I don't have to tell you anything" . When I asked how many non Hispanic Americans he had employed at his location he says "plenty". There are none. Desrimination at its finest. He could have simply said we are not hiring at this time but I guess I was the joke for the day running me around and mistreating me while I had my 6 year old...
Read moreLet me just say that I will NEVER be back to visit this Las Palmas. We had a table of 4 and we came in at 3:30pm. At this time on cinco de mayo it was NOT busy at all. Ghost town! Our server had no sense of urgency and we had to call for him on two different occasions. It is 5:30 pm right now and we were finishing our drinks, looking at the dessert menu while catching up. The manager comes over and says "hello ladies how was everything" and we all replied "it was great, thank you." He then proceeds to say "well we need the table" ummmm. Excuseeee me???! We were not the only table hanging out...yet he has the audacity to tell us to leave bc they need the table because they have a wait!!!? Of course they have a wait...it's Cinco de mayo. In all of my years of service and serving at a fine dining restaurant I have NEVER seen my manager rush a table and say "sorry but we need the table" what an ass. Will never be back . service was slow and food was mediocre and the...
