Fantastic food and service. I was there on a Saturday at dinner time so parking was very tight and I was about 10 people back in the line waiting for a table, but it moved quickly and I was seated in probably 10 minutes or so.
I had bao buns for an appetizer and they were delicious. Light fluffy buns overflowing with super flavorful pork belly, fresh cucumber, and carrots. Very satisfying.
I had bo kho for an entree and it was equally delicious. Rich beef broth with roast beef, big pieces of carrot, rice noodles, and a plate of garnishes of bean sprouts, jalapenos, lime, and mint. It has a pepper beside it indicating it's spicy, but I didn't find it very spicy, but it did have an especially nice depth of flavor.
I also ordered a baguette to dip in my stew and it was delivered hot and fluffy. I didn't consider this a true baguette, more like a Mexican bolillo, but still very good.
The floor is controlled chaos with the staff moving from the kitchen through the dining area with a friendly nonchalance while delivering food, clearing tables, and taking orders. What I assume is the manager or owner constantly checked on the customers and handled the cash only register (there's an ATM if you forget cash).
All in all it was a delightful experience. I was solo on a Saturday night and never felt rushed, ignored, or bothered.
My favorite dining experience in Nashville,...
Read moreVN Pho is by far our favorite spot for Vietnamese food and our favorite restaurant in terms of genuine, caring, and friendly staff.
This is a family owned and run establishment, and it is clear that they value their customerâs time, money, and patronage. Every staff member weâve interacted with has been very helpful with menu explanation and recommendations according to what they think would be the best option for us.
Nam and Peter run an excellent front of house, and the Luuâs consistently deliver delicious food items in a quick manner from the back of house.
Weâve brought family and friends and love supporting this excellent establishment. The care and hospitality they extend to their guests alongside exceptional food offerings makes VN Pho a must try on the Nashville food scene.
Food recommendations weâve had: bao bun, spring rolls, egg rolls, bahn mi, all of the pastries (great there or takeout), pho, hu tieu, Bo kho, vermicelli, short ribs, shaking beef (admittedly, we rarely stray from the soup offerings- theyâre so hard to pass up!)
Also, the only thing I donât put chili monkey king on (the chili oil they make, package, and sell in-house) is my coffee.
Thank you, VN Pho family and staff, for the great food, warm hospitality, and being our once-a-week go-to for the past few...
Read moreThe welcoming when walking in location was good and being seating, I wish I knew ahead they didnât take cash the ATM charged me $6 dollars just to get cash out. This was my first visit I was recommended by a few friends to try. I got Flank and shrimp Pho and Shrimp egg rolls. The flank was very chewy and had a unusual taste, the shrimp was so fishy I know itâs fish but didnât taste how Miss Sagion or Kein Giang tasted, barely had got to eat my bowl when I pull out a piece of hair in bowl, I immediately called one of the staff to make sure it was hair before I over reacted. He took it and walks to back and says when he comes back âwell this not our hair so my manager said we can give you 50% off⌠he did not apologize nor even ask did I want it just remade just said we can give you 50% off⌠I asked for the manager he comes out and says the same thing. No apology or even we can remake it just continued to say this is not our hair.. he kept trying to make a assumption that I put the hair in the bowl.. the hair was like a blonde color, straight or silky I am black so it definitely was not my hair and he just kept going back and fourth on how if someone else does this. I just feel he was very rude over the situation did not show and empathy or try to make the situation better. I will...
