I so wanted to write a raving review- seems like a really nice place and I will have to try it again. I went with 3 employees and one of them noticed there was a "pastrami reuben." I love a good reuben and I knew that 2 of my employees had never had one since they are from Venezuela. So, we all got the reuben. I have to say- the ingredients all seemed of high quality- but the patstrami was small chunks, instead of slices- so almost like hash. It really didn't have much pastrami flavor...just a bit over salty. It really tasted nothing at all like a reuben, and we opened up the sandwhich and there was no thousand island dressing. We also could not see any sauerkraut. We asked the waitress for some thousand island or russian dressing- and she came back with some containers. It didn't look like either and did not taste at all like either- a litte spicy. I asked her about it and she said it was their "burger sauce". Really would have made more sense to just tell us they didn't have any thousand or russian. She did offer that they had honey mustard- so we got some of that and it really did help. The sweetness set off some of the saltiness of the pastrami. So- it was more like a salty chipped beef sandwhich. Very dissapointing to have it be nothing at all like a reuben- so it would make more sense to call it something else really. I can't say that the swiss cheese had much flavor either. The toasted marbled rye was awesome...the french fries and the onion rings were also awesome. I hate that my employees didn't get to taste what a reuben should taste like though so I feel like I need to take them somewhere for something at a little authentic. Like I said- the ingredietts themselves were of good quality -but we would for sure never order it again. Would like to try the hamburger sometime- just have to save up a bit....it was $83 with tax for the 4 sandwhiches, order of onion rings and bowl of fries and 4 iced teas. Not crazy overpriced but priced high enough that it should not be chipped meat...

I’ve lived in Tennessee for about 15 years and never have I once found this diamond of a gem as Browns Diner is, the food, atmosphere, service, and drinks were pristine as if I’d been missing out all my life! I went with my friend and it was packed, like I mean packed, we were greeted by this foreign lady that was really nice and understanding telling us that it’ll be a minute for seating but it’s seat yourself when a table is clean so we patiently waited and sat down once there was a clean table outside, the live band was absolutely amazing and definitely made waiting for a seat worth it. Once we got our waitress to get our order and food I ordered a blond Bloody Mary that was out of this world and my friend got tucks Paloma and that was awesome as well but then the food came out and lemme tell ya this super smash burger ain’t no joke it came out so juicy, the sauce was amazing, and bun don’t even get me started it was like I was eating butter it was so good! All in all for how busy it was, the service, food and drinks definitely did not disappoint, I will come back and definitely spread the word of Browns Diner to my friends and family and anybody else it’s definitely a place that knows damn well what...
Read moreYes I know it's a trailer. Yes I know the kitchen used to be an old street car. Yes I know this close to Hillsboro village you have a plethora of overhyped and overpriced restaurants which may seem better. All of them pale in comparison to Brown's.
Brown's has an atmosphere that is tough to match nowadays in Nashville. With a Santa's Pub, a Batter's Box, and a Bobby's Idle Hour Tavern vibe, Brown's drives home the idea of what 15 years ago Nashville looked like. Most nights feature live music, the pitchers are some of the cheapest you will find in Nashville, and there is a recently expanded menu which does everything it serves well.
As far as the restaurant itself the patio outside is awesome and they will give you the remote to watch whatever your heart desires. If you want to sit inside there is a dining room in the back as well as a good bit of bar seating. All of these areas are complimented by almost constant live music. The menu is pretty standard for what you would get at a typical southern restaurant but everything on it is excellent, especially the burger.
If nothing else sells you the beer pitchers are dirt cheap, so at the very least start your night...
